I don’t disagree with Vurt on the concept. I disagree with the leap from “LLMs reply in ways that look like thinking/reasoning” to “therefore they are actually thinking and reasoning.”

We just do not know that. We still do not understand the black box well enough, so I’m wary of applying traits to it just because what it does looks similar to the only example of reasoning we actually know: us.
It may or may not be. But I cannot myself defend that it surely is. Because I see results that may only mirror/mimic it.

It feels like seeing output that resembles reasoning and then concluding it must be reasoning, which is like hearing a parrot speak and deciding it understands language.

Shit, that means like 90% of podcasts are podslop: 51% are human made slop, 39% are AI made slop.

AI content is kind of annoying, i especially hate when i see it directed to older people and the comments are filled with "bless your heart" and with hundreds of thousands of views and not a single comment that it's AI.

You can since long have a human avatar which looks 95% human like, the one thing i don't think it does well is the blinking of the eyes. I have been fooled in the past but now when i know what to look for i can tell pretty quickly, same with AI voices, i can almost always tell but it can take a while before you realize its AI, it gets very one-note.

Unfortunately most people aren't as smart to spot this and get influenced by whatever the post is trying to convey

Old people are fucking stupid and the young ones are becoming anti-AI luddite fundamentalists, it's going to be fun times ahead.

It can be fully automated too at this point, and that will be even easier in the future . Just tell the agent what kind of video you want to do, e.g best 10 upcoming RPG's and it can find the most recent game trailers and just make the clip automatically and fully voiced.

Pretty sure that is what e.g RetroPocket does, people are clueless. Though i do think channels like that have a lot of AI comments as well because they will absolutely know how to do that.

If its annoying now it will be nothing to what is coming Laughing

LLM is not AI. But young people by large are not "anti-LLM", not by a long shot. Every 30yo and younger I know religiously ask Ciatto Geppetto religiously for advice Laughing even the most mundane shit. They speak to them like it's their friend. I do wonder how many of them would willing to pay the actual cost of running LLM servers once the bubble pops. At this point, looks like easy money to me, since young people seem to have lost the ability to think for themselves.

I do wonder which will be the first AI catastrophe, i do think we are a few years away from it, but i also think it will happen at some point, something totally unexpected too.

But we are getting to a breaking point as well where its now so good that they can't release it to the public because its getting too dangerous. The step up from current to Mythos (and then beyond that!) is quite large. So all the fun will likely be locked away from the public Sad though, there is also.. China... so there might still be hope/fear (wonderful things, terrible things).

Since there is no AI yet, there is no such catastrophe in sight.
