I like the mod that gives more vague description of chance to hit. So, instead of percentages one sees something like "average", "below average" or "likely" chance to hit. I think it's a nice compromise between percentages and the original approach.

I dont mind no chance to hit, i think the reason against it is when you miss at 95% or point blank you'll rage when you dont know you dont care

You can still target enemies even with 0% hit chance, so the frustration is understandable. The mod that describes the chance is a nice middle ground.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.

You can hit what you can see as long there is no obstacles. You can hit enemies you don't see by sheer luck and you can hit enemies outside your weapons range though it will only graze them.
I have a gripe that there are hidden mechanics that the game don't tell you. I'm not certain if type of weapon is not taken into account when hitting someone from close range like it was in Fallout Tactics. That rifles have negative modifiers in very close or point blank enemies.
Also some later types of enemies can hear silenced gunshots or screams of dying enemies. First I thought I can't stealth kill in quick succession but apparently "Guard" class can detect deaths of close by enemies and alarm whole map.

If you scavenge sectors and break down unused or dupe guns then you should be able to have enough parts/gunpowder to comfortably craft ammo at any town market. I've been rolling with my trusty men without any shortage so far, though I did run out of meds once since I was trying to do no-retry-allowed blitzkriegs

After about 30 hours I finally made all my five manly trigger-happy men happy, especially Steroid with his permanently oiled pectorals:
Spoiler: | |
As already mentioned, it definitely was more enjoyable than I expected albeit with its dose of odd compromises, occasional bipolar AI and not quite enough depth in terms of world dynamics. On Commando difficulty, I ended up with more money than I could ever spend and never really hit any wall when it comes to resources or sectors being insurmountable, though facing the last few bosses with the Jaggedbros mini squad felt quite hectic. I went with two fully upgraded snipers (silenced 'n modified Dragunov/Winchester), one MG42-equipped medic and two mad explosive specialists for good measure taking advantage of the game's destructible environments. Das is da wae, legion putain!
There are bizarre side quests too with whacky characters and situations that are RPG-like and require some tinkering/skill checking, which adds to the experience by making the sector-clearing feel less mundane. It still gets repetitive after a while, but it's almost a miracle that the game isn't a filthy imposter and retains most of the core elements that made the series famous in the first place. I'd throw it 7 Mustard gas grenades and a half/10, hoping to see some meaty mods in the future.

I finished it. The game gets a bit repetitive and the combat can be trivialized with a decent setup, but I still felt compelled to continue. It's very enjoyable despite some shortcomings and a few annoying bugs.

Best way to get ammo? When ever i go to the starting island to craft ammo it says nobody is present that can craft. What did i miss? (probably something simple)
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.

You need an explosive expert in your group https://gamertweak.com/ammo-jagged-alliance-3/

A support squad for the main choke points would indeed be ideal in order to avoid going back and forth all the time. I still decided to stick to one artificially limited group of five jaggedbros just to keep things spicy and have some sense of urgency

I was about ~18hrs into this in the past week or so when an update hit. Now there's a weapon / ammo / armour shop that got added and it seems like the game's going to be a bit of a breeze
An odd choice as it's quite good at making you pay attention to ammo reserves and the weapons that can use them

Nah
You can just not use it, however, if I had just started a new game I would have considered that a feature I should rely on, and the game would lose a lot of its appeal / challenge
Anyway, I've hit a quest breaking bug. It's HIGHLY enjoyable / up my alley, but I am so sick of playing games that are this far past their release date and still broken as hell. There are lots of little ones that are easy to look past, but I'm worn out with unfinished shit lately.

Not waiting for another patch, so I cleared the mine out that this quest is attached to and likely became the bad guy in the process

Beat it after 36hrs, cleared the map on hard
Some of those missions, hot damn. I spent 5hrs trying to clear 1 of them (save the president). Seems to be a lot of RNG mechanics tied to that one. Overall, really enjoyable though!
