I'm not here to stop anyone from enjoying it. Yes, they're nice to look at, but a lot of people here often get a little worked up over games which are pretty to look at and have no substance. If the water physics actually did something, that would be great. It's also a little hard to call them realistic water physics when the water just seems to ghost through houses and not interact with them in any way. What exactly makes them so realistic? The fact that it levels out? or that it can move?
If you have a hard-on for water physics I'd recommend Dwarf Fortress. I think toady just finished individually modelling 10 million different kinds of droplets.
Also, keep in mind I made that reply to someone who was claiming that the water physics somehow made this a great game. I'll quote it again for context:
KillerCrocker wrote: | Do we have possibly best grand scale water physics ever in a game and he is complaining ?
I think that ubisoft dust game is the only game with cool water physics too |
So it wasn't just someone enjoying the water physics, these water physics were somehow supposed to make this game great. It's a small visual aspect, that has no real implication on the gameplay, so my question remains "What's so great about water physics that do nothing?" That's like someone in the Call of Duty thread said:
"OMG we've got the most realistic gun barrel reflections ever and he still doesn't like this game?"
Now what would be the response to that?

The lake to the right? I tried laying a dam across the river, but it only said I'd get something like 30-64mw, hardly seemed worth it.

three times now the policy window has bugged out on me. Poking around reddit and steam other people seem to be experiencing the same. Let's hope they actually start working on a patch.

Yup, policy window is rather buggy. Happened twice for me and always needed a reload to fix it.

Policies question: When enabling policies, i.e. Energy and Water conservation, is the cost 5 or .5 per citizen? I couldn't see it very well last night and my income of 1500+ pretty much when to -500 and dropping having like 1500 people in my town. I was trying to figure out why that was since you'd think it wouldn't cost that much. The mood status of the people didn't drop that much but one or both of those policies seemed to "break the bank."
