That's cool Razz

A fresh GTA IV reinstall + countless of epic mods is in my plans since forever, but I'm too lazy to actually spend hours modding the game. Very Happy Laughing *first world problems*

Look at all that glorious LOD pop-in. I wonder if that's a taste of things to come in GTA5? Surely the consoles are going to struggle with streaming in cells that fast.

So, with all those "realistic" videos being posted in the GTA V thread now (e.g. http://www.nfohump.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2271495#2271495 and http://www.nfohump.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2271612#2271612 ) I'm wondering how to set those up?

I've never modded GTA 4 before and I kind of just want to see what this does to the framerate. Because right now, my GPU is not even going into 3D mode, there's *that* little for it to do. It keeps running at 700 MHz because of the game's shit programming

I've Googled around a bit, but it seems these all require 1.0.4.0 rather than Steam's 1.0.7.0?

And I don't suppose any of these pricks have published a list of the mods they're using for the textures and car models right? They rarely do Razz

EFLC and GTA4 have different versioning schemes as far as I know. I seem to remember something like EFLC 1.0 being 1.0.4.0 for GTA4?

I'm curious now Laughing

With everything turned up, the game sticks to 35 FPS as if its life depends on it. Toning everything down to High from Very High suddenly allows for 60 FPS to happen. View/detail distance have 0 effect on framerate Laughing

Meanwhile, my GPU's picking it nose because there's nothing for it to do, I'm 100% CPU limited
And to think that there are still people out there that refuse to believe GTA4 is the shit port it is... Laughing

Just to move this discussion into the right place Razz

1.0.4.0 used to run better on this PC.

LIVE can be problematic if you don't download the latest version directly, otherwise the game should work fine as far as I know.
(Rockstar Social Club is probably not a issue either plus it's probably updated rather frequently.)

Maybe not from a technical stand point but I think gta5 on console looks/is far better than gta4 on PC plus mods. Maybe not technically but just the vibe I get while playing it is so much better than when I first played 4, like jumping off the peer into the water for the first time. hanging for this to come to PC.

There's already some effort in understanding the game files and doing some simpler mods for GTA 5 for the console versions so it'll be interesting to see what mods can do for the game on PC whenever the game is ported over.

Though of course that does also allow for exploits and other issues with online gaming but that's probably unavoidable.

It's mostly the summery and beachy colours. Whereas in GTA 4 it was autumn, grey, nothing but concrete around you and so on. Otherwise graphics is the same. Just the colours are different.

I might go back to 1080p gaming though, 1440p isn't working out, it highlights the 'shit' in games Laughing Check out the distance...

Try to mod some cars or install car packs. That shit will make the game drop textures like crazy. Laughing

The multiplayer mod is out, up to 256 people online:

http://www.multiv-mod.com/
(requires Episodes of Liberty City)

If it will be as good as Just Cause 2's mp mod, then

So I've noticed that it's on sale on steam for 7.49 euros (with SA) and seeing how I never got a GTA game on steam, I've been wondering if this is worth it. My main concern is that GTA IV ISO-demo runs like utter shit on my rig no matter what settings I use, but some I've seen some people with weaker system running this better.

So my question is, is there a difference in performance in the original vers vs the cracked one? Confused

There shouldn't be any difference.

Guess I'll skip it for now then. Must be something off with my setup. Neutral

Thanks for the reply! Very Happy

I have achieved the impossible.

That's on an i5 4670K @ 3.4 GHz, 16 GB RAM and GeForce 780.

You know what the "funny" thing is?

The game still manages to drop to mid 40s.

Perhaps in 2020 we'll be able to play this shit in locked 60.

Lots of good stuff for consoles. Only someone really fucking stupid would say otherwise. PC is the far more superior platform to play most games on though IMO.
