Let's hope it wont be a X360 port with 30 #nextgen FPS and hurrdurr controls without ultrawide resolutions.

I don't think there were ultrawides in 2011... besides check Your facts before complaining... the game has NATIVE support for ultrawides lol:
https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/RAGE

Also, nothing about the game shows that sacrifices had to be made to release it on 360/ps3 aside from few low res textures up close. In fact it's quite an achievement on consoles and game scaled nicely on pc offering better graphics and resolution ofcourse. The megatextures (with some streaming issues) feature was a very novel idea which made it possible for the art of the game to look as good as it does.

The controls are excellent on pc and game always ran like a dream. I was playing it 60fps without any streaming issues on 8800gt ffs.

And I never understood graphical complains aside from some low res textures and slow streaming on some pc setups. The game still looks great, have amazing animation system and great classic id combat.

Lets hope this one gets it right. Tooooo many flaws and lackluster game elements in R1 (not to mention all the bugs).

The game was buggy as hell when it was released. Also texture quality was crap thanks to #nextgen consoles.

The game was bugged on AMD and it took them 7 driver releases to get their OpenGL drivers up to par. I have it documented it here: http://www.nfohump.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2109792#2109792

On nvidia it ran very well day 1. I have also documented this here: http://www.nfohump.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2109687#2109687

And texture quality was crap thanks to the massive space megatextures consume. It has nothing to do with consoles. They already maxed out all their available space on 3 DVDs and couldn't fit higher quality ones. 3 DVDs was considered massive back then. SP campaign was 16.5 GB: http://www.nfohump.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2617420#2617420 That was massive in 2011..

Now 50GB games are seen as normal.

That being said I had to Laughing at some of KillerCrocker's statements. It was a basic PC port , with some serious flaws (super sensitive mouse in the menus anyone?). Let's not make it into something exceptional. And in the end I would say that the good art direction of the game could be approximated with tiled textures, so..

I think it's highly likely the game will be a mini or full on reboot since the original didn't exactly made everyone go wow. And open world is a given, because a) it's 2018, and b) if The Evil Within of all things went somewhat open world-ish, imagine Rage.
