What is the Ferrari Virtual Race?
The Ferrari Virtual Race is a racing simulator, that allows you to race a Ferrari (customised for you at the Atelier) around the legendary Mugello circuit.

How does it work?
1. Download the Ferrari Virtual Race to your PC.
2. Configure your ideal car at the Atelier.
3. Save your bespoke car in My Ferrari.
4. Export your dream car from My Ferrari to the Ferrari Virtual Race.

To see how your 612 Scaglietti takes the San Donato corner, or how your Fiorano looks on the Luco bend, download the Ferrari Virtual Race now.

Stay tuned
The 599 GTB Fiorano, 612 Scaglietti and 430 Scuderia are all ready to be driven in the Ferrari Virtual Race. The rest of the range will be available soon – but why wait? You can save your customised California, F430 or F430 Spider to My Ferrari to drive at a later date.

the only thing is bad about this game that it's freakin short, one map 3 cars? come on ferrari arn't rich enough to make at least one full quality game

i can actually do some controlled drifts in to corners, which is a bitch to do usually in any sim, i'm not saying this is the one, then again GT calls itself REAL driving simulator on each version and it's nowhere near, so why the heck not to call this one too Razz

Well, Gran Turismo is a console game for a casual audience. You want 'true' accuracy you have to hit the simulators and unfortunately there isn't ONE game that does everything, it's split between iRacing, Live for Speed, rFactor, GTR/2, NetKar Pro, Richard Burns Rally, Nascar Racing 2003... and maybe some others I'm forgetting.

As for this Ferrari title I'm not even going to bother. I thought BMW's offering a year or so ago was pretty good as it was based on the GTR engine, but these sorts of things don't have much traction for me. Install, play, feel underwhelemed and delete.

Oh and;

Unless that's sarcasm based on the quality of the game, they did release a Ferrari title on consoles not too long ago. It's supposed to be 'decent' but I never bothered.

I don't play Gran Turismo as a simulation. It's a game for the car enthusiast more than anything else, something to marvel at and play with. Not to say that the racecraft isn't enjoyable, it is, just that it's always going to pale in comparison to a PC simulator. For me that distinction is always there, so I don't get hung up on what it doesn't do and just enjoy what it does.

Even on the PC has its problems, and detractors, but it also has a lot of features that are enviable like dynamic weather and (linearly) evolving track conditions. The most realistic I've played is iRacing, it's incomplete feature wise but the actual driving feedback is the most involving, challenging and realistic of any I've ever played. This is where games like Gran Turismo fall down rather heavily as tracks aren't polished, smooth surfaces. The laser scanned tracks of iRacing (combined, crucially, with its physics engine rFactor lovers Wink) puts other titles to shame. It's hard to go back to anything else after that.

yes but iracing it to expensive (pay for every track/car), there are too many ovals (ovals suck), and too many redneck cars....

simbin's games still give the most complete package... (gtr2, gtr-evo, stcc, and off course all the mods.)

Thanks! Giving it a try Smile

EDIT:
ok. It has somewhat good handling and GFX. Smashed into other drivers a LOT = 4 % damage in the end of the race Very Happy

oh yes, almost forgot, "your customized ferrari" means u get to pick the colour Confused Geez.

ok its nice to drive with the dashboard view, but in what the game really shines is in putting the ferrari icon in your desktop... Rolling Eyes
