The worst part (like in many RPG's) is the combat itself, i find myself alt+tab out to Windows (to write this post, for example) sometimes while in combat Wink Reminds me of WoW in it's worst moments (when it's not tactical).

I'm still just at the beginning, but I must say the combat gets better and better when you get more skills. Like any other RPG, you're just a pussy hitting air at the beginning. I actually think the combat is quite interesting. It can be as fun as you make it, use skills and such.
I've read a review just yesterday in my favorite mag, according to the reviewer the game gets alot better after the third area (Marshes). He says the story is very very slow at the beginning and the items aren't that good. I already like the game alot, I'm still at Ferdok. If the game gets better and better after the marshes area, it'll be brilliant.

If you can't lockpick a door you usually have to come back later or find another passage.

Sounds good. I got really annoyed with the quest where you're supposed to clean out like 500 rats from a cave, but i probably did that quest much too early..

Anyone know how many areas there are (i'm at the marshes now), how far am i into the game?

Anyone solved the treasure map quest in the swamps? Some help about where to start, I'm thinking it's at the three graves of the mercenaries but don't know where to go on from there.

Has anyone bought the boat in the Ferdok harbor yet? if so what you can do with it?

And the combat in this game is really great, my char is equipped in quite heavy armor and in 1v1 combat he can take quite a beating but if theres another opponent and he manages to get behind me he can do lots of dmg from there. Havent enjoyed RPG this much in a long time

Save before doing this as it's quest related, don't want to spoil anything so sorry if this is a bit vague.

How far am I into the game if I just left the citadel section of Ferdok?
Has anyone far enough used blacksmithing. I really like such things, but sadly blacksmithing in most RPG's is really 'underpowered'. I want to specialize that dwarf guy in blacksmithing. So are there any cool and unique blueprints later on?
Alchemy seems usefull too. Do I get an NPC to specialize in Alchemy later on? I was thinking about the amazon, but she's practically a simple fighter.

Did you guys wait until later to fight those two mercs in the beginning or is there a trick I could use? Can't really beat them with a newb soldier, even if I try and maneuver to get away from the second one, they still get free shots at me.

witcher isn't quite like this, now is it?

mister_s, you can keep the amazon a straight fighter if you want, you'll get more companions a bit later.

inz, what quest are the mercs a part of?

i don't remember any problematic fights in the first area. they should be beatable by the time all the quests around there are done, because you can't return there after you leave for ferdok.

Yep not a quest per se, the two mercenaries just outside that first camp you come across will challenge you to a fight. Need to talk to the right one tho, the other won't say much.

Do the mercs when you've done all the other quests. It's actually a mini tutorial for the combat, so it shouldn't be too difficult.

This had to be the most annoying boss ever due to how much health it had, had to use a ton of bandages and antidotes as well.

And this little shit tossing (Or whatever it does to make you smell bad.) "blob" is probably among the most annoying enemies so far due to how hard they are to kill or rather the time it takes to kill them (Plus the smell side-effect).

Magic works like charm on those blobs, fire and lightning spell are great.
As for that rat... I'm still to kill that motherfucker! Those rats that he spawns all the time are killing both my spellcasters in instant and she takes care of my fighters. Sad

The moment one of your characters does a ranged attack, magic or arrow, that character insantly jumps to the top of the target list. Apoparently they did that because it's logical, we players do it too. So you should always protect your ranged guys and use buffs.

Most annoying quest ever created, almost made me quit playing.

I liked the begining of the game but the more i got into it the worse it became, the combat system works, but what doesnt work is the super boring quests and getting spammed by the same type of enemies..

Worked here, where did you look for her?
(It is the guard captain right? she goes from the guard post in the main district - Phius or what it was called - to the city hall quarter - where you meet the duke and so on - after a specific quest has been completed, it's located behind one of the stalls near a dude who trains various weapon related skills.)
