doesn't crash , faith becomes slow as fuck and you can't jump across anything starting chapter two

I just came over hear to see comments on the game before I started to play and then I stumbled on the above.
I suppose that means we need a proper again.
Fuck.

I'm using an old logitech gamepad with analog sticks. And yes for me the left stick on the controller is inverted. Pushing back makes you walk forward no idea why. I actually prefer using the keyboard + mouse. I'm nearing the end of the game I think... hope there's some decent replay value, it's a fun game.

I think you can fix that by editing an .ini file. Rise Of The Argonauts had the same issue.

I dont remember the chapter Im on, but

the game slow's down like in Super-Slow motion and the buttons are unresponsable.

This seem's to be fixed when you quit and restart, but I cannot finish this chapter because after a minute the girl runs at a very slow pace.

I was able to get further in the level than the first time before, but I dont know if this is a Crack/Phsyx issue.

I have had 0 crashes or slow-downs in framerate before this.

For those asking whats the difference, with Physx and no Phsyx. Here is a vid.

Edit: Also, I get no audio during cutscenes, on Windows 7 x64. I did not have that problem on Vista x64. Any work arounds, for Windows 7 users?

Its hard to think that, because audio works fine, once you get to actual gameplay. If it was a driver issue, then you would think, you would have no audio at all.

Games available now on D2D UK and EA store in EU regions. Smile
(Will work for me until RLD gets a proper out, don't want to waste activations as EA is a bit problematic with deactivating existing ones.)

I did try disabling all, sound sources besides the one I was using. HDMI, headphones, etc... Did not help. Only get sound during gameplay. But I will keep tinkering. Right now I am looking at the TDengine.ini. Maybe there is something in there that needs tweaked.

Edit. Tried setting to "Software mode", ingame. Still no audio during cutscenes.
Edit. Does this look OK, to you Vista folks?

Code:
[WinDrv.WindowsClient]
AudioDeviceClass=ALAudio.ALAudioDevice

[ALAudio.ALAudioDevice]
MaxChannels=32
UseEffectsProcessing=True
TimeBetweenHWUpdates=15
MinOggVorbisDurationGame=20
MinOggVorbisDurationEditor=4
DeviceName=Generic Hardware
MinOggVorbisDuration=10

Unsure if this works but have you tried the BIK player as that's what the movies are.
http://www.radgametools.com/bnkdown.htm

Install it and view a few movies outside the game (Open them directly) and see if there's sound, should work with the game but I'm a bit unsure.

\MirrorsEdge\TdGame\Movies\
(Can remove/rename logo movies here as well and not just via INI editing as mentioned previously.)

the MinOggVorbisDuration=10 does not exist in my ini file. heres what mine looks like

[ALAudio.ALAudioDevice]
MaxChannels=32
UseEffectsProcessing=True

MinOggVorbisDurationGame=20
MinOggVorbisDurationEditor=4

A question! Idea There's a time trial map which is based on the level where you chase that guy. But, there's a checkpoint in there which I can't reach! I think it's the 5th one, and it comes right after you jump down on to the blue area. Does anyone know the part I'm talking about?

I'll try it again, maybe I'll find the correct route this time.

Edit: Got it! You need to stand on the outside ledge, then climb up.

I think that there is an issue with the binkw32.dll in the Mirror's Edge directory for Windows 7 users.. the videos play and sound fine in RAD Tools.. so it must be something about EA's bink plugin that isn't working correctly.

Personally, I don't care much about the story, and the sound in-game is perfect.. so I'll just watch them outside the game if I feel like it.

I tried the binkw32.dll from GTA IV, and Fallout 3, with no luck. The one from Fallout 3, gives a error, when loading Mirrors Edge.

Did you install in a compatibility mode?

I just did a straight install without one.. I wonder if it makes a difference..

i suppose there is a problem with your audio codecs, not with the drivers. The compatibility mode won't help. Just report to the Microsoft and EA forums and wait for updates)
