I've never known a game in which players get so many injurys. I hope that's fixed for the full game.
I signed Henry for Liverpool to replace Torres who got injured. Henry was injured on his debut. Great

The injuries seems a eternal problem with earlier versions of the game. The online update will fix it, hopefully.

I've never had that problem.
Injuries; they are a problem but if I understand correctly I believe this is intentional. Sports Interactive's stance on injuries is that the 'numbers add up' and that a sizeable proportion of players out on the pitch are carrying minor injuries (the perfectionist in us demands 99% condition and no warning label). It also adds a welcome challenge to being a manager. That said, I have had problems with it in the past and I'm not entirely convinced by the reasoning.
Regarding the demo, it's very much what I expected and that is... pretty dull. It's still the best Football Management game on the market, and the 3D engine (once you get over how hilarious it looks in comparison to most games these days) isn't bad - but there's no real standout features or mix-up to the general flow of the game. Subtle as usual then.

Actually, the player development problem was pretty well-known. It was a combination of people with high Potential Ability starting with very low Current Ability, in addition to the fact that effects of training were severly toned down from 2007. In effect this would make the regens never reach their Potential Ability, thus drastically lowering the quality of players after several seasons of play.

The picture is all kinds of funny
Did you play them all at very low condition in friendlies or something? Again, like I said, I don't agree with their reasoning, but that's their official line when pressed on it.

Well that in itself is not a bug. Potential ability is just that, potential. If their current ability is extremely low the chances they will ever reach their potential (even with an exaggerated training element) is extremely unlikely (and in that way; working as intended). Now problems with lack of quality regen's has been a problem for ages - but that seems a separate issue.

No but you see, the average quality *went down* because the regens could never reach their potential( unlike the real players in the game, whom all reach their potential ability because they start with higher current ability ). The players are meant to reach their potential, especially when you have a team with all the best coaches and best training grounds. The regen quality itself is not a problem, plenty of players with 190++ PA. It was just the training that was messed up, it didn't give as much effect as it should.
In FM2007 they managed to get the balance right, so that was never an issue there.

Based on the official comments I've read, potential ability is meant to be more difficult to attain depending on how low their current ability is (ergo; low current ability, high potential = they aren't going to achieve it regardless of the facilities or staff). That's how it's supposed to work. The issue you're on about is separate, and relates to how regens are generated as a whole. On the first; it's not a bug, for the second; it's poor implementation.
Oh and maybe edit the picture above, it's ruining the size of the forum

The scale of players to pitch is lamentable.

Dont train players too hard and they wont get injured as much.
Some players are more injury prone than others.
And ofcourse a player with low current ability and high potential can reach his max potential!!
Its all a matter of how you train and play the player! If a player constantly get low ratings he wont develop as quickly as he would otherwise...

that doesnt help either.
the problem is the condition of midfielders, wingers and strikers.
especially them midfielders condition is going down way too fast...
after 45 their condition is down to 70 or worst even if theyre starting with 100%.
but theyre gonna fix that on the release day with a patch!
**EDIT**
@ BigBasher can you downsize your pic ?

£d representaion of a far superior engine to any other manager game is ok I suppose, dont see the need for it. If people want to play a piece of shit they will play FIFA manager, if they want to play something with a bit of depth and substance and a sense to it they play FM I guess, injuries to be fixed in first day patch so no massive issue there.
From what im hearing tho the protection they are using they seem confident that crackers will struggle with it, time will tell, seeing as this is the first game to use this copy protection (so SIgames reckon) crackers will really struggle with it

A Dutch member of the SIgames forums has the game. Activation isn't working yet though.

Hope a release group get a hold of it and fix the problem. I wanna play this before Friday, of course I'll be buying it then, as its an FM game and I'll play it for the whole year.

Yeah, a few people have it, but the activation may be a problem for the hackers to crack. Only time will tell, this title isnt massive worldwide, but maybe the copy protection itself is a good incentive for a few coders to try and crack it

Indeed. I think it'll be cracked before release day. Even if it is though, it'll need the patch to be playable.

FM2008 had some pretty tricky triggers. I'd much rather have a good clone for this.

Clone wont make any difference, as its not on the disc copy protection (ie secuROM etc)
Its online or phone activation. So you dont need the dvd in the drive after installation. So a clone wouldnt make any difference, a good workaround/crack for the activation is all you can hope for, My preorder is in, and Im gonna be mighty annoyed if it arrives early coz I cant play it til the 14th due to activation servers not coming onine til then
