There is mob scaling in the game, although not everywhere.

All games need to be easy, especially console and multiplatform. Didn't you get the memo or something? Laughing

Anyway, I think there's scaling for the main quest (and main-subquests) but not the rest. When you visit a 'random' dungeon (not related to the main story) early on in the game the entire dungeon will be capped at your level. So if you were to immediately leave the dungeon, and come back 3 levels later the dungeon critters will still be 3 levels lower than you.

Use Technical forum ..

But anyway : you can find setting resolution param here : C:\Users\"you"\Documents\My Games\Fallout3/FalloutPrefs.ini and not FALLOUT.INI (under vista)

still on the vault section. So far the game is fantastic, but:

- the customization options lack the depth of oblivion ones, i can't make my char look like i want him to, and i could in oblivion..

-somethings wrong with the vats slow-mo hit videos. Everything is blurry as hell and i can barely see anything.. maybe something at the graphics options, or video drivers related..gotta look into it later..

i really doubt that a version labeled RUS/ENG has other languages besides those....
especially since the screenshots don't show any other option in the installer.

but there's also a german release, you might wanna try that one Wink

Okay, for the last and final time.
The release has only English and Russian, through the method which can be found on page 60 you can make the release 100% english, thats the method you should use as it works.

Don't talk about making your windows version russian or your grandmother speaking swahili, due to a faulty fallout version, because you will get banned for not bothering to read the solutions already posted and the simultaneous warnings, that warn you of the same thing I'm doing now.

How is that a bug? It's a stupid design choice but not a bug. Every game should have 2-3 quicksave slots btw. Such thinggs happen often in RPG's, that's why I always save before making the final decision.

Just a couple of question to the ones that already have the game:

1 - Is there a HARD or HARDCORE difficulty level? This is a game that I would love to play on hard.

2 - How is the performance? I wonder if my 8800GT will be able to play it on a good graphical setting (It was possible with Farcry 2 and Dead Space, so there is hope).

One MOD that I hope to see soon is the ability to add MP3 songs to the radios. I have tons of 40ies and 50ies songs that really would go well in the Fallout Universe. Very Happy

Game is about 5.6 GB large once installed. Smile

Easy - Medium - Hard difficulty.

Daemon Tools doesn't matter if it can mount .MDS/.MDF files (It's cracked.)
(Can also unpack it.)

Performance is great, usually around 40 - 60 FPS with the game tweaked a bit for better visuals and everything else on max with 4xAA
(Haven't been over 60 so either it's capped or I forgot VSync due to the Russian launcher window, been doing most advanced things directly to the INI file.)

EDIT: Tweaked FalloutPrefs.ini
 Spoiler:

(Added comments to the values I changed, // marks.)

The following lines in LOD section, in the Fallout.ini file determine whats rendered afar. Meaning what you can see when you look out into the landscape, enabling some of them will decrease your performance but "improve" your artificial viewrange and maybe immersion.
Code:

bDisplayLODLand=1
bDisplayLODBuildings=0
bLODPopTrees=0
bLODPopActors=0
bLODPopItems=0
bLODPopObjects=0

The difficulty is Very Easy,Easy, Normal, Hard and Very hard.

Wow, this game runs great and looks great.

Got a 8800gts and the game runs perfect on 1920x1200 4AA en 8 on that other thingy
Also ingame i put all gfx options on max. Btw not showing off just informing that a bit older system can still run this game perfectly.

The game looks great and i'm gonna start playing it again after i get something to eat.

btw if someone can translate the lower part of the russian options menu then i can setup that stuff aswell.

Also if someone has nice .ini hacks pls post them so we can all enjoy them (like post above me )

There are quite a few, various threading improvements, using AA together with HDR, some sort of depth of field effect and a variety of smaller tweaks, that said they are pretty similar. (Even the console commands like Player.Additem 0000000f to add bottle caps or a instead of f to add "lockpicks")

Thx again.
Anybody playing on Very Hard?
Would love to see some input on that one.

I think that a game like this one really is better if played on a really hard setting (but one that you can manage with skill, not being insanely hard).

I used to love how hard Fallout and Fallout were. It really fitted well in the theme of a brutal and unforgiving world, where the top priority would be to survive.

Sounds like double core optimizations, you had to activate those manually in oblivion Laughing and you couldn't use HDR with aa if I remeber correctly.

So any thoughts from someone who liked FO 1\2 but was skeptical about this? Should I try it if I loved Morrowind but hated Oblivion? I really don't want to try it myself coz I'm afraid I'll end up bitching and whining about it, I'm above all that Very Happy

EDIT: Also, what's the writing like? And could someone post screens of the inventory, quest log and stuff? Curious to see what they've done with it...
