I can understand how europeons would not have a problem stealing. I mean they basically work for free as the gov. steals 70% of what they make for "welfare programs."
Americans got no excuse though.

This doesn't have ANYTHING to do with games!! Its all about whether stealing is okay or not.

The law clearly states in most countries that downloading software illegaly is not the same as stealing, hence your argument is not valid.
Ohh, and you're an idiot....

This whole things has been chewed over and over a bunch of times, somone posted exactly this like over a year ago (an actual link which states this). However I don't care to convince you, since that wasn't my actual point, the whole sentence was building up to me calling you an idiot.

I'm an idiot because the backward country you live in doesn't think that downloading illegally is stealing. Eat paint chips much?

No it is not okay, and neither is stealing games. But I guess you think stealing oil is bad but stealing games is okay.
Maybe you should think about being F**ing CONSISTENT!

Manslaughter is not murder, but both are crimes.
Downloading software illegaly is not stealing, yet both are crimes.
Get my drift or are you too dimwitted to understand subtle differences? ^_^
It's semantics but still...they're not the same.

So you are a criminal but not a thief? HAHAHA
Taking or using someone's work WITHOUT paying for it is stealing. Now you remind me of Pres. Bush who redefines words if he doesn't like the definition.

ubisoft's statements hold the same importance as my arse does for world peace.
As soon as they start learning how to make games for the pc instead of porting shit console crap onto PC with as much optimization as my wrist watch, people will start caring. Until then, GTFO.

GOOD pc games sell.
Piracy = Lazy excuse to keep investors happy.
"S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: 2.000.000 copies sold 3 September 2008"
"The Witcher sells a million copies... and still counting. " (almost a year ago)
"Sins of a Solar Empire Crosses Half a Million Mark"
fuck even crysis sold far more than a million copies.
i could post dozens of examples of other games.

correction, Crytek lied about sales figures for Crysis, they sold over 3 million copies of the game and still they keep up piracy ruined the game and they wouldnt support it anymore, they just wanted to milk the consumers buy making the exact same game from a different perspecitve

the first games that become pirated are console games, so it is a bullshit reason to not make a game for pc |
there are more piracy in the PC then the consoles, why?
Because Modchip or firmware your console
coast you the responsibility from the company on your console and can risk your console.most of the people
don't want it.[/quote]
ehm that last sentence made no sense whatsoever?
what makes you think consoles are pirated less? everybody has it modded with a chip or has the firmware changed to be able to play games without playing

I sez a troll in da house!
For me, piracy is as much stealing as watching movies from TV or renting books from library is. I'm willing to get lesser experience than those who buy the game, as I don't perceive the product valuable enough to buy it. If pirating games comes hard enough, then I'll simply stop playing them. Occasionally the pirated copy proves to be worth purchasing, giving the companies revenue (which they wouldn't be getting without piracy).
No matter how much you shout "piracy is stealing" and how much deeper you shove your fingers into your eardrums, I still won't see piracy as stealing - it is a question of morals after all.
And this is coming from somebody who is striving to work professionally in the gaming industry.

what he said is perfectly correct. to download games for the 360 you need a dual layer dvd burner, high quality discs, and a modded console.
on the pc you need an internet connection.
it's only natural that pc games get pirated more, because it's much easier, and as he mentioned, modding your console puts the console at risk, it could break, and you lose your warranty, which is a very dangerous thing especially with the 360 as it likes to die so much.
on the pc every idiot who has no idea what the fuck he's doing can go on a torrent site and download something, but for consoles, the 'casual' pirates who have trouble extracting rar files are too afraid to mod their consoles.
plus you run the risk of getting banned from xbox live.
