Personally, I hope they ignore that Newtonian physics bullshit. I don't like my spacecraft moving like it's on ice .. and I sure as fuck don't like moving the mouse and having the ship carry on forwards. Realism is one thing, but not when it comes at the expense of fun!
Adding Newtonian physics killed my enjoyment of Freelancer's best mod; TNG.

Yes, I'm fully aware of how silly that sounds .. but it's personal preference, heh. Oh and before some smart-arse chimes in with "Elite2-Frontier had Newtonian physics and you liked THAT!" --- you could enable maneuvering thrusters which pretty much negated NP.
The devs started a blog where they will post new info about the game until it's released the 26th of september.
Also a was released.
It supplements the
I for one, can't wait for this game
So, is there a list of all the new features they are putting into this one? I own all the others. Can't see me NOT buying this one as well. Although, I really didn't play the last 2 as much as I should have. Still a good game though and i have no problem supporting genres i enjoy.

Well if you don't like newtonian physics, you can pick whatever you want of space sims, because most of them don't have it (unfortunately).
I like that kind of physics because it allows for all kinds of cool manoveuring with your ship. Without it, it becomes dull as fuck, it's like your ship behaves like soap on water.

Only list I've found is the one on the wiki page (not that I've looked much ):
* New ships and missions
* Boarding parties
* Bombers
* Flight wing groups
* Missile frigates
* A new User Interface
* Non-player corporations
* New and improved mission-handling
* Military outposts
* A bunch of new weapons.
Sounds great tho, rival corps and all. Hope they've really put effort into the new missions.
Non-player corporations is key here. If they can make those interesting, the universe might eventually feel more alive and competitive, which is X's biggest problem.

there is an X3 mod that adds AI *players* that start out with only a single freighter and trade to make money like you and eventually build their own stations and stuff.
ALthough I'm not sure how far they got with that.
Wow. If you can eventually end up at war with rival corporations. ., . that does sound incredibly cool. i think that was one thing that has been missing all along.
seems that iot will be quite good game --- and very larg mod community ( in therory mods for X3 reunion can be used after little corection in X3 TC ) is sure that game will have great gameplay
They added most of the stuff from the Xtended mod, and hired the developer behind that mod to expand upon it. So the M7 ships and a lot of the extra stuff from there is in TC.
The non player corporations will each start with a solar plant and a freighter and seed the market "solar cells" and make money from that, they will also be able to field their own fleets and try aggressive takeover of your factories and eachothers.
Also the universe is a lot larger than in Reunion. As in the Bala Gi missions you will be able to reverse engineer enemy tech such as Kha'ak and Xenon ships and thus build your own once you get rich enough. These races and the "secret race" will also take over sectors and destroy your factories if they find them.
Basically it's a living breathing universe that will evolve even if you don't play the game, like if you just dock in a station and leave the computer for 10 days and come back, other corps might be in control or the sector might've changed hands entirely.

Holy crap! To be quite frank, I was expecting a few new ships, sectors, weapons etc etc mostly but this is ridiculous...ly good that is. They managed to fix the single most annoying problem I had with the game, the emptiness of the universe but now with NPC corporations its gonna be much more alive.
Any word on whether they're changing the interface? It'd be great to see a stat screen which shows how the other corporations are doing.
Hope its shipped relatively bugfree, I'm tired of waiting for patches all the time
Yeah the entire interface has been changed to make it more streamlined and you don't have to click 4 times to get your personal info or info about ship weapons, if you use the mouse.
Hopefully you can play it with a controller properly this time I don't own a dick-stick and the mouse is not the best solution for this type of game, all I need is the option to disable it in game I can do my own customization with xpadder.

The ship controlls are more like Freelancer this time, so the mouse is pretty much the primary choice.
Fuck, this game is unpopular! I wanted to download this for some fun until TC comes, but I can't find a proper source anywhere (in usenet or torrents)... No one appreciates quality anymore!
If you understand german, and can't get enough info like me, theres some interesting video's and part and
Even if you don't understand german you get to see some cool things like the revamped interface.
