And so what ? There's no point playing it if you can't travel. Wait for a proper fix.

It's confirmed, even though there's still some uncertanties how kills carry over. Check this thread for a pretty detailed explanation. |
So let me get this straight, if i want a Vangaurd with the sniper skill, i start the game with an infiltrator, work up till i get the sniper skill, i kill 150 creatures with the sniper rifle until i get the achievement.
Then i start a new vangaurd character and i can choose the sniper-skill as an extra skill? |
yes
in order to kill 150 creatures with sniper rifle learned skill is not requirement
achievements has stored in "My Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect\Save\Profile.MassEffectProfile"
ps
imho good choice is soldier with throw, warp and barrier/shield skills |
how do you open that file?

Apparently I must have hit the "auto update" button by mistake, not on my character, but my sidekicks. Is there anyway to change that with my current game, or am I stuck with that feature enabled for the rest of my game? I want to manually updated the electronics abilities for one of the chicks that is travelling with me, but everytime I get level up points, the other folks in my party do not. Theirs are automatically taken care of.
Any ideas?
Just curious...
Thanks...

There should be an option menu, specifically dedicated to gameplay options. There you will find the switch to disable all auto-leveling.

I wonder if someone actually finished all the side missions... I keep getting messages by the admiral, there are the missions you get from people and god knows where else.

I finished every side-mission on the 360 version, huzzah!
... I'm just waiting for a proper fix so I can play through the PC one completely.

Here's an interesting question with a possible interesting answer:
If one would want to compare Bioware's RPG's, how should we scale the following titles:
- Baldur's Gate II (include BG I + exp and BG II's expansion)
- Neverwinter Nights (include expansions)
- Jade Empire
- Knights of the Old Republic
- Mass Effect
?
Please note that the graphic aspect is highly relative as it can only be rated as compared with other titles appeared around the same year. So mainly we're talking pure gameplay here.
My No.1 choice, even after playing ME, still remains BG II. The depth, gameplay and immersive world canot be beaten by a slightly artifficial feel and a slight lack of "soul" (cold and lifeless environments) that NWN, KoTOR and ME had.
Keep in mind that my opinion is subjective.
P.S.
NWN2 and KoTOR2 are not developed by Bioware => their absence from the list.

Yes, definitely 10/10. Can't remember the last game I wanted to keep playing so much.

I also love this game, I don't like the equipment and gear system though, feels shallow and as someone else mentioned the planets for sidequests are very boring, just some randomly generated terrain with mountains and shiat, no vegetation or the like.

Uhm, correct me if I'm wrong ( ), but planets with no atmosphere have no vegetation, only mountains.

There are a couple of uncharted planets with atmosphere and some algae and primitive animal life, though they tend to be extremely mountainous and annoying to navigate.

It's a bit boring that one can't land on or even scan that many planets, explored the Sol system recently and tried both Earth and Mars before trying all other planets, could only land on Luna (the moon) and that was probably only because it's related to a quest.
(Hopefully this will be expanded via DLC addons, quite a few are already listed in one of the INI files albeit who knows what they end up releasing.)

If Bioware would have released the Unreal Editor 3 alongside the game (just like the case of Gears of War and Unreal Tournament 3), we would have had lots of chances to see custom content like more explorable areas/planets. With some of them looking even better than what the devs offered us.
Of all the games based on UE3 (except BioShock) Mass Effect was THE ONLY ONE that could have used that editor to create a good amount of additional custom quality content. Just check TES IV with TES Construction Set. That game is VERY alive due to the great modding community.
The lack of the editor is a big minus in the Mass Effect package for me.

Sure, people would be able to edit in levels, new equipment, maybe even a decent extra plot. But no one would be there to provide the professional grade voice acting. And without that voice acting, the plot would feel shallow at best.
I've become spoiled with the awesome voice acting in Bioware titles. ME is no exception. Voicework is just as important to the plot as the plot itself

I didn't find the game to be very hard to be honest, not sure what you need a trainer for.

A trainer for an RPG? What's the point? Why not just skip the game altogether?

1. Baldur's Gate I & 2 (Expansions)
2. KOTOR 1
3. Mass Effect
4. Jade Empire
5. Neverwinter Nights
I didn't like neverwinter nights as much as the others, even though the system for combat was so close to dungeons & dragons it didn't work for me.

Arrrgh. Bioware are such cockteasers. Now I have a demo instead of a full game. Even found all the keepers, hehe that took me quite some time. But the money and xp was worth it.
Are there any extra quests that open once you become a Spectre? The doctor gives you an extra quest, any others? Where can I find that guy who is your fan, still didn't complete it and can't find him now?
