Considering what happens after a facehugger attaches to the host I wouldn't recommend using it for that, unless one wants that worm like creature to emerge from ones arse.
(Or wherever it would be located after something like that.)

Not at all excited about this game anymore. Definatly not an AvP3, which is really what should be made.
AVP3 is no good, because predz and aliens dont fit together in one environment very well.
Aliens movie game is what I'm craving for and then pred...

First Avp was OK, but almost no story and no pred environment, the second one had bad gameplay and style. And in ALL of those games preds were crap. Aliens and predators in one movie or game just dont work. Either you make aliens in LV426, or predators in the jungle, you cant merge them properly.

preds were crap- umm... no..
I felt invincible while playing predZ.. Smiling every time i caught by surprise aliens & humans alike.. using hi-tech visions & gadgets.. I felt nice sticking and crawling at walls & ceilings and tearing apart the poor marines as the alien as well...

Ahh memories... damn i want AVP3 Sad

Maaaan, I cannot wait for this!! AvP 1 and 2 were simply amazing, so even though we're losing control of the Alien and/or Predator, this is still going to be awesome ^_^

Button pressing time.

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/?p=1301

Quote:

“It has quick-time events. But, fortunately, instead of huge button-icons appearing on screen and destroying the brooding atmosphere, subtle colour-coded tinges to the edges of your view will alert you to a required button press.”

Could work depending on how it's implemented but I was never any good at these things.
(Had problems in alot of titles that used this technique such as Jericho and RE4 but I eventually succeeded.)

yea i hate that button pressing.
especially if you were watching a cutscene, and for example put your controller down and suddenly you needed to press some buttons.

Seems not.

Pitchford has reiterated to Shacknews that production on Aliens is still ongoing, though he did not go into further detail on the status of the project, only stating that to say it has "halted" is an "inaccurate characterization."

Looked like avp2 screens couldnt really see anything apart from an alien blowing up.
Hope they dont fuck this one too badly avp,avp2 and the expansion were great games , loved playing them , the films were shite like alien 4 and 3 and predator 2 really.

SEGA confirms Aliens: Colonial Marines still alive

Quote:
Gearbox Software's hotly anticipated shooter Aliens: Colonial Marines will be out for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in the first quarter of 2009, SEGA has confirmed.

The news puts paid to concerns over the development of the game following perceived lower than expected sales of Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway.

Although SEGA was unable to clarify exactly what months Q1 2009 include when contacted by VideoGamer.com, it is expected to run from April to the end of June, the first three months of the Japanese company's financial year.

In November last year Gearbox president Randy Pitchford issued a statement to press confirming Aliens had not been canned following rumours that SEGA had cut the funding on the project.

The Aliens: Colonial Marines confirmation comes in an updated release schedule sent to media today by SEGA. It details a February release for House of the Dead: Overkill and spring release for The Conduit on Nintendo Wii, as well as a Q1 2009 release for Obsidian RPG Alpha Protocol.

Delayed a bit as Sega has announced a new "Alien verus Predator" project. Smile

EDIT: Oh yeah, this will be released in 2010 and the other Alien titles (Colonial Marines and the other RPG one.) will hit AFTER this game. Sad
