Laughing what exactly has he offered the people? this guy is as pro-white old businessman as it gets. look at the charts chinup posted, he is classed as further right than any of the other republiscum.

his entire philosophy is based on the idea that government should do nothing for the people. he would cut funding to every single facet of the already pathetic social safety net of america. every one would be 100% at the whim of large corporations (well, at least more so than now).

Well he's said that he will abolish income tax all together, bring the troops hom,e(nobody else has said they would do this).
Quote:

He said that the government should take a backward step and stop "interfering" in peoples lives so much, and obey the constitution.
That test has got to be wrong in some way.How can Ron Paul be more right wing them Gwb?
He said he would bring the troops home,Gwb won't.He'll remove all American troops from other countries like The 1000's of troops stationed in Germany still,Wtf are they there for ?
They've been there since after ww2 finished,It's not as if Germany is a threat to anyone any more.

I remember doing this test years ago and coming towards the bottom-left like most peeps.

In fact most people's moral beliefs would have them score there. One wonders whether this is a tool to influence everyone to become left-wing liberals (or to vote as one). Openly right-wing people are getting the wrong score.

All be it the media black-out he got

Nobody voted for him because he has no campaign funding. But he's no good for normal Americans as he's a fanatic free marketer. Good critique here: http://www.geekarmy.com/geekblog/politics/transcript-of-noam-chomsky-on-ron-paul/

You'll get all sorts of Paul supporters trying to use economic theory to justify their belief, but that economic theory has no evidence whatsoever.

O .. didn't hear about Gravels petition for legislation that would make it a felony to continue waging a war on foreign soil ?

"Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, & denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, & exposing the country to greater danger."

Stepping stone is right GeordieRacer, even go so far as call Germany a guiding light to the new age of corporate imperialism. Order through chaos, create enough of a climate of fear that the people will accept any leader & any policy which promises security. Mad

here you go GeordieRacer

suicid4l .. more like the political figures present their case to the public in such a way that the public are duped into thinking they share their political views. gingerninjaaaaaa is a classic example of somebody from the left thinking the candidate they support shared their regard for personal liberty. Funny how patriotism is used to pervert the word liberty.

Revolutionary if you ask me.

Social Security - Gravel wants to put real money, rather than borrowed money, in the Social Security Trust Fund. He advocates investing it properly and identifying the interests of individual beneficiaries so they can know what their retirement fund is and leave surplus funds to heirs.

Universal Healthcare Vouchers - Gravel advocates a universal healthcare system that provides equal medical services to all citizens, paid for by a retail sales tax (a portion of the Progressive Fair tax). Citizens would pay nothing for health benefits.

What really makes Gravel dangerous to the corps is he wants to return the voting power to the people & remove it from the special interest lobby groups on capital hill. Wink

I think it probably represents the demographic of a warez forum quite well. Besides which the test is liberal biased anyway.

So you think people should pay for the right to earn an income ? Erm thats slavery. Pay for the right to buy goods & services regulated by the state sure thing. Wink

Tax needs to be simple & transparent not mountains of technicalities & loop holes so those who can afford a full time accountant can get away with shirking their responsibility to the publics budget needs. Its not like income tax even goes into the public budget coffers anyway. Income tax is a scam & nasty scam @ that .

Ron Paul has had nothing but lies and misinformation said against him in the media, every time they published a print on Ron Paul they did nothing but darken the image of the guy.
Cnn and Fox news were the worse culprits in this, they spread nothing but lies about Ron Paul as they know the guy is good for the country and will minimise the influence on what the main stream media have say about things as they have way to much power.
For bad press reporting and i mean down out lies go to http://www.ronpaulforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=29 and find out for yourselves.
He hasn't had the same amount of time as the other main candidates when on the main debates.
Put it this way if i was an American i would defiantly have Ron Paul in the white house then absolutely any of the other men/women running for it.

@ chinup and rxp.....
Who do you want in the white house?

Yah I do, those who earn more should pay more into society, to fund social spending. It's the best method for fair taxation. Sales tax is highly regressive (for very obvious reasons), penalising those with lower incomes. Gravel's argument relies on citing the billions in cost of collecting tax. However when we are discussing macro-economic spending, absolute numbers have no meaning, they have to be expressed as a % of either government spending or GDP or another suitable indicator.

I must say you have a strange conception of slavery if you think paying taxes on your income is slavery. Slavery is denial of basic human nature:, freedom of movement, thought, expression etc. Your definition of slavery means that every single wage earner in the west is a slave. If this were the case, the word slave has no meaning and it would also desecrates the memory of all those who have suffered true slavery, be that chattel or wage.

I agree, income tax rules need to be transparent. At the moment they of course prop up the financial and legal professional service industries.

Edit: gingerninjaaaaaa, I don't really care who is in the white house. Two party systems are a sham and there are no discernable differences between democrats or republicans, or any of the runners. The great liberal hope is Obama, comparisons have been made to Kennedy. Analyse Kennedy's record for just one second, and you will see he is one of a long line of mass murderers in the Whitehouse. I'm not sure what will be different at present.

I mean I've read Obama's essay in Foreign Affairs an he plans to immediately withdraw troops from Iraq. But I just don' see how he can just turn his back on a key goal of US foreign policy, of securing energy resources. To let Iraq go their own way would lead to an aliance with Shiate Iran, an absoulte nightmare for planners. I will literally be shocked if he implements his manifesto on Iraq.

Overall I would like a man like Mike Gravel in the Whitehouse. He's a true patriot and peace lover and his record shows he will sacrifice his personal career for moral grounds (he was actively involved in the leak of the pentagon papers).

RXP .. no taxation without representation. We should pay tax on goods & services rendered . Its the nature of tyrants to make people pay for the right to make a living on their patch. see Protection racket

gingerninjaaaaaa
.. please do some personal research on R!P .. don't take my word for anything, check yourself. I personally despise the man for apposing abortion, Apposing same sex marriage, apposing free medical care, apposing corporate regulation. The man is a baptist wing-nut in my book, shouldn't have the right to drive a vehicle let alone a nation Evil or Very Mad

just retook it & I seem to have sunk deeper into anarchy since the last time I took it . :-\

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.92

Took the test again putting opposite responses to my own & yielded this

Economic Left/Right: 7.75

So its clear that the test isn't deliberately putting everyone in the green, what we have here is a majority of people who think in a similar way about these questions. Anyone who is pro corporate control of resources & workforces lives, Anti-abortion, pro death penalty ect will be outside of teh green I imagine. Neutral
