I've got a 550W PSU..will that be enough to use the 8800GT?..and how much PSU power a PC needs to have an idea?
What i've got in: E6600+thermaltake Big Typh,EN7900GT+Zalman VF900,2 HDD,1 DVD Writer

but the XFX8800GT 512MB says it requires 500W...mine's 550..isn't that...too much close,besides of the energy required for my other components?!...wouldn't this just make my PC games crash or anything!?...My EN7900GT "minimum requires" 350W...and still my games freezes and have artifacts!!..Decent 47-55C at EVEREST

they usually give the specs according to installing it in a system ...
this one says....

what about the temps on other things? I had a fair amount of freezing because my northbridge chipset was overheating ... added new heatsink and cleaned the dust out .. although it does seem like you have good stuff for cooling in your machine....

do you have a name-brand PSU?

Mother Board (ASUS P5K Deluxe): 43
and a thermaltake Big Typh VX12 CPU Fan (HUGE) and a ZALMAN GPU VF900 cooler
Anything else u wanna kno'?..note that i actually get Artifacts in games (Crysis n UT3 specially)

What i'm worried about is that i might need to update my ASUS P5K Deluxe mobo's BIOS and i dun have a floppy drive here...but i remember you can use an USB Pendrive to update the BIOS?..if so,how do i do it? (they say updatin' the BIOS can help to compatibilize the new 8800GT cards)

You can update your BIOS through ASUS Update afaik !

Ok,updated it..i guess (checked EVEREST)..but there was this "CMOS cheksum bad" at the new booting..i just pressed "Load Default"..hope it's not bad <<;

I guess they forgot to tell you that before updating youre bios you should set all options to default.EVEREST temps are not proper.

CPU's are pretty hard to kill bro, you have to be TRYING to murder it to murder it.
That's the misconception with OC'ing - that you'll damage hardware but it's not that easy to do.

I have a question. I have a motherboard: Gigabyte K8NF-9 and there is 1 PCI express x 16 slot and 2 PCI express x 1 slots on it.
I want to buy the 8800 GT, but I've read this card has PCI 2. Will this card fit on my motherboard? And if the card fit, will it run normally?

PCIExpress 2.0 is backwards compatible.
So yes, it will work on a PCI Express 1.0 or 1.1 slot.
