It needs to be internal, And under 500GB (Too much data to loose if it dies)
250GB-320GB would do nice.

well I'm happy with my Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320 GB. I've tried IBM and Western digital before and they were both crap!
Hardware: Ryzen 3700x, B450 MSI Gaming Pro carbon AC, GTX1080, 32 GB 3200 Mhz cas 14, 256 EVO SSD, 1 TB EVO SSD and 4 TB HDD.
Console: xbox, wii and xbox 360

Personally it's kidna dumb to get a small drive cause you worry about losing all that data? So what about the 250+? Bigger doesn't mean more likely to fail, if your afraid to lose all that then you should be archiving to DVD's than lol. But anywho, as your requested....and reguardless what anyone says, Western Digital will always be the best. I've NEVER had them fail on me and I've got a 40, 2 80's a 160 and a 500 all in use. The 500 is only a year old but the rest are 2+ years and still running smooth.

Don't archive to DVDs, it's a painstaking, timeconsuming, and expensive process.
Buy yourself a BIG external hdd where you can backup everything to.

Well point made, I personally don't do it but it's really his only choice if he's worrying about a HD dieing on him
