You get more wingem as the story goes on and as for the mercenaries. You hire them from a trading station and they will accompany you right away(you can't control them at all, they just follow you). Only thing is they require payment everytime you go to another system,so taking them along trough many systems gets pretty expensive.

And as for getting better equipment, get corsair(character) on your team,he's a pirate and has a black market skill...gets you a LOT better equipment than your regular ones.Smile

Yeah i'm just on the mission where you get Corsair but the battle right after he joins me is very hard. And regarding the mercenaries, I know how you're supposed to do, but they just don't appear. And I don't think any money is deducted when I accept their deals either.

I think I had to pass a few missions before I started getting the mercs. I love the chedap mercs, make them take the heat and then sell their parts :]

Well, the only problem I'm having is the constant crashing. It either happens during a mission or after a trigger event. I suspect a shitty crack, but who knows? The russian version has a patch, maybe the patch will get put out for the english version. Anyone had any success with getting around this?

Getting credits is horribly easy. Wait for a job posting at the trade station, there is a 500k cargo run every little while. Or sit at a gate, hit time accel to 4x and pop everything that comes through the gate. It doesn't seem to effect standings or relations Smile

I got the crashes too, got tired of them and uninstalled, pity I still liked the game.

Well, I solved the crash problems. I applied the first Russian patch, and then the second one. I haven't had a crash since. It doesn't make any changes to the executable, so you don't need a new crack to apply the patches and everything remains in English. A pity it's such a short game. I'm done already Sad

The game is interesting and offers alot of modding for ships but sadly its unstable even with the second german patch installed for me.

I think the game would be great if it was more like a space shooter in terms of movement, I hate the movement in this game so much!

Star Wolves 3 Civil War-SKIDROW

I'll post it here since it's actually SW2: Civil War and too lazy to make a new template.

Loving the game so far. Smile

It's subjective mate. Gameplay is no different to the first two SW titles, so if you liked those; this is more of the - awesome IMO - same. Voice acting is still HORRIFIC, but as a friend of mine said; that adds to the charm Very Happy

It's a great space RPG with some tactical elements and a lot of customisation.

Voice acting...where?
I only heard voices in the intro...

I have always loved Star Wolves. Sure it's not for everyone, but the reviews seem to point out that the games are boring(which I don't think they are) and are full of bugs(haven't encountered any).

civil war is like a mix of SW1 and SW2. Good features taken from both of em. Very Happy

Cutscenes and battle voices. They're terrible, but that doesn't change the gameplay - which, IMO and yours it seems, is far from boring or buggy =) I truly love this series and have the first two games on retail.

I thought the intro voices were ok...WAY WAY WAY Better than they were in the first game(iirc they were all done by one man). Very Happy

I've bought all three of em...I accidentally bought this one 2 times, but let's leave it at that. Laughing

No, Yes, No.

All the time. You gain exp and cash from fights/side-quests which you can then use to increase your skills (the games have a pretty expansive skill-tree that shames most other RPGs) and buy news ships/upgrades/weapons. Gameplay is a BIT like Homeworld, only without the base building or resource gathering. If you've ever played "Nexus - The Jupiter Incident" then you'd be right at home with Star Wolves.

No, no online.

Did read "Diablo II in space" in some comment. Enough for me to initiate the leech. I do not trust reviews any more, especially for such niche games. Hope theres not too much to read...

No probs, you're welcome =)

Just remember to give it a little time! It's rough around the edges and takes a while getting used to, but is definitely fun and rewarding mate.
