that's the million dollar question. However, it's obviously the key.
The clone key is blacklisted, and it seems that any key generated by the Razor keygen is also blacklisted.
All this is performed without the help of the net, so a firewall can't even help here.

The key has additional parameter not considered by check at installation. Keygen generates a key passing check at installation of game, but FADE checks additional parameter and rejects a key.

couldnt it be like it was with diablo 2 and other games that they know every games key they have sold... so there are like only 2 million valid keys and with each patch they could add valid keys if the first 2 mill are sold. I belive the keygen could give you a valid key but i dont dare to calculate the chances of finding it.
damn i wish i could buy that game but sprocket and this activation stuff sucks and on ebay only some non-trustworty ppl sell it to my country:(

a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, someone said that fade in ofp was triggered by a simple CRC check of the exe. once discovered, it was easily patched out.
perhaps the same thing is happening with arma. i guess hatred have better things to do than properly crack their 1.05 release.
/me is waiting for the north american retail.

It is really odd that the patch verifies carefully the old install before applying the patch. The patch process is incredibly slow! Remember how the old Opflash patches had copy protection built right in the patches?
There must be a slight file difference that BIS discovered between a real copy of the game and say Hatred's version. I suspect the patch installs a "fade enabled" patch if it detects a pirated version.

bad news, unfortunately. The crack is bad.
The patch packed with the crack (33x15) doesn't seem to have been modified at all, and the game is Faded from the get go.
I guess it should be nuked for 'bad crack'.

The crack is a nodvd fixed exe and it works 100%. So it can hardly be considered a bad crack.
But the Hatred release should have been nuked, so that they would have to release a nfofix with a working, non blacklisted serial (for single-player only ofc), to have it unnuked.

Based on the ArmA changelog site there seems to be more things planned for the game ( http://bugs.armed-assault.net/changelog_page.php ) so that would require either some way that permanently stopped fade from activating or a new serial and nocd for each of the upcomming patches and expansions/addons since new blacklists and updated copy protections are implemented as well.
Can't really remember how this worked out in Operation Flashpoint but it was probably similar before the fade system was found and deactivated.
At any rate it's nice to see that the game is being actively supported even though the protection system can be quite annoying but from the screens I've seen the upcomming patches and the somewhat mysterious "game2" (Sequel?) will be worth it.
( Some info about it and a few technology screens can be found here http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard311/ikonboard.cgi?s=894e4b13cedebe839e1014e8d9524a16;act=SF;f=56 )

As has been mentioned a few times now that issue is a part of the FADE copy protection that is being triggered due to a incorrect/blacklisted serial and a modified exe file.
Currently there's no fix for it aside from buying the game but Curerom 1.1 should be out soon wich fixes the modified exe problem though most keys generated with the keygen are ofcourse still blacklisted so it probably won't help that much.
(Unless someone release a new key as a dox or similar though that will probably be blacklisted quite fast as well)

Is the game worth buying for MP? I never experienced any "fade" effect that you guys talk about here during playing SP. And i can just imagine how fun mp would be! So, is it worth to buy it only for the mp?

i just installed the hatred release and it threw me back to memories of the opflash, as it also ran pretty damn slow on my system back then. It runs okish on my old amdxp & gf6800gt but feels sluggish even at moderate resolutions... ...does the patch remedy some of the sluggishness?
If not, I guess i ll make it as i did it with opflash. Wait and get a better system and buy the game =)

I don't think this explains everything. For blacklisted keys you get full FADE (aiming, etc.) but with a generated one, you only get the seagull from time to time.

not 100% true. Every key I try has every effect of fade. Clone key, hatred key, any razor generated keys.
can't aim straight when zoomed, enemies have super, super accuracy and can you hit you if you're standing ontop of a mountain, randomly turn into a seagull, can't snipe....... whole bunch of stuff.

@Zollino: Take the posts here with a grain of salt. Insecure and childish people often need someone to make jokes about.
And you re right of course that it will be beneficial to wait a bit. I dont see the gameplay or the graphics of ArmA getting old too soon. Well, Crysis might be enough to do so, but that is also some time away and i wouldnt have the hardware to play that smoothly either

@ZOLLINO it was just a joke. Relax bud. I meant no offense. I personally have no gift for languages and can speak only English and a tiny bit of French. I admire anyone who can speak more than one language.
You wrote everything in a fashion that reminded me of how Yoda speaks.
Sorry for annoying you. Have a virtual beer on me.

Didn't Ury76 say he had an original key but was getting crap from using the nocd? Suggests to me the crack is bad but the keygen might be OK .....?
