Yep same for me Sad

And at "default" it was a bit slow at 600+ units Sad Dunno if that is mutch, but in this game i doubt it.

R600 might help some Cool

I tried the demo for one hour... I think the graphics kind of sux, well it doesn't really sux, it's just nothing fancy ... but it might be because my lamo Pee Cee is 2-3 years old... still it's a P3 3.06 ghz with 2 gb of RAM and 6800 Ultra. Not sure which pixel shader version it has and if getting a 7900 or so will make it look like so much better.

I was expecting better GFX and i think C&C 3 will be better...

However the gameplay itself seems very nice, very close to what TA was.

The ergonomy is a bit confusing often i didn't knew if i had to right click of left click.

I had little trouble to manage the ressources... For the electricity, if your output is higher than your input, very quickly the "stock" drops to 0 and you're stalled, so it requires close attention.

Also i built a radar and didn't really see what it did for me Smile

I think the game has great potential... I cant wait for the final release...

the read me is from the final version i think, it mentions 8 gb of space, so you can expect a DVD 9 Smile

Had a quick game last night. Man they've overcomplicated things or at least made it look like ass making it seem complicated. The GUI takes up some major screen real estate as well Sad Still I haven't played it to enjoy it, I just run around it checking it out.

Lame lame game. The design shoves you back to the 90's, the gui is HUGE and the units resemble tiny pricks. You don't get the feel like in C&C games, where you're in the battle. Also, the music is continues bullshit. PASS ON IT.

Comeon! The opening movie was so awesome but when the gameplay began it sucked! I also hate that they made a Russian woman as your handler! Didn't they think we will spot the resemblance to the comrades of Red Alert?!

Guess it's not your kind of game then. I loved the origenal TA and still play it sometime, and SupCom is only better!

The units are very small scale for a reason, game dev's aren't at the point yet where they can render huge detailed units and at the same time maintain 1000+ of them on screen. Not only are games not there yet but the hardware itself, the amount of fillrate and CPU needed to accomodate that is extreme.

This is one of the few games that hides the ceiling on unit numbers very well with the scale and amount of them. Build 500+ units and watch the battle and tell me it's not entertaining.

The only bad part about the game is the very lifeless unit design and buildings. But that's probably another sacrifice to keep that huge unit number viable for the dev's.

For me, when TA originally came out it had an interesting angle in terms of graphics. It was bold. This is very bland and feels more rough around the edges (in relative comparison to games of today). There isn't a comfortable zoom setting either so you're constantly shifting from one to another and it's very hard (on the highest detail settings no less) to differentiate between units, buildings and terrain. Again this is a sacrifice they had to make and I respect that; but I don't think it looks that good graphically overall. It doesn't feel as MEATY if that's a good word for it Very Happy

I'm almost positive the game will grow on me eventually and that modifications will help in that regard but I'll admit I'm not as impressed as I was hoping to be. The single player actually looks interesting from a glance, but I've really been playing with the skirmish as I don't like the hand holding you get in early missions. Multiplayer is where it's at of course but no way of testing that.

If it had uber-graphics you wouldn't be able to run it with so many units, think about that for a second.

the gameplay window is too small , i wonder why they made that choice...
I mean they could have added transparent interface areo style over the gameplay window, or made it semi removable unless mouse is in a certain location of the screen...

I have a 19 LCD and it was very small , way too small for me Smile

You could just have it so that the details scale really fluidly as you adjust the zoom, like how B&W2 handles it. Besides, it's not really about the detail of the units it's more that the unit design is generic and bland. They have no personality.

It's not a question of technical graphics. It's a question of artistry.

And the generic story... Bla! I yawned after watching the intro. The most cliched thing I've seen this year.

Nice idea, poorly executed.

Granted there is a few big unites, but they take forever to build and pretty much never accours in a multiplayer game. Multiplayer games is just constant spam of lvl1 units vs other lvl 1 units.

Even then, nothing feels grand scale... Sad Sure there are many units on screen and all, but it just feels like... well, micromachines, lol. Can't explain why, it just does.

I love it, and I am enjoying it big time. The zoom feature is revolutionary. 1 hour into my first skirmish I was zooming out, moving my mouse to a location I wanted to see and zooming in. It was so easy, just a few seconds! I had 14 Gunships attacking a group of small and large mechs and the graphics were awesome! I zoomed in all the way and the detail was great. I was always zooming in on what I was doing and never once thought the graphics sucked. The game ran great for me. Of course it should since I just got my new system last weekend Smile. I had everything turned up all the way with out one hiccup. The opening movie ran flawlessly. I love the grand scale. I actually feel free in this game. No real ceiling to the zoom out! I love CC Generals but wished I could zoom out like I can in SupCom. Also, if you didn't like the detail wait until the Direct X 10 patch comes out! Damn, there will be no complaints about the graphics on this forum then!
I setup some torpedo emplacements along with some sonar and saw a submarine get obliterated. It then wavered and sunk under the awesome water. I setup some shields and the graphics were sweet! This is an excellent game. Please, so the gaming gods look at you with favor, try this again and really get into it.

9 out of 10 easily and it's only the DEMO!

MD
