Even TA-082 boards should be able to run devhook AFAIK. Just make sure you get a PSP with 2.7 FW highest, everything higher than that can't run homebrew yet...

I got my eyes on a 1.5 PSP +2GB memstick on e-bay (40 minutes to go).. hope I can get it for a £150 or less, but I don't fancy my chances.
it says it's the "Rare Japanese Version with Sharp Screen " .. is that good ?

well after playing it a bit i can honestly say without a shadow of a doubt...
for espionage type games...
syphon filter still beats all... it truely is the greatest game avaliable on the system to date...
the controls in portable ops are kinda meh... its the only game i have where i DEFINATELY dont want to end up in a shootout because i know ill get my ass completely kicked... now if theyd made this game with the syphon filter setup but kept it more at the "more-sneaky-less-shooty" end of the spectrum, this woulda been a great great game... as it is, at the moment, its meerly a really good game. ill keep playing it as it seems to have a cool story, and has great graphics, but this is not the greatest game ever made for the psp.

Damnit, I followed the instructions and tossed MGS:PO on the mem stick...
I chose:
-> UMD SELECT > File Emulation > MGSPO.CSO (via 751MB ripkit)
-> FIRMWARE > firmware 3.01 (MS or flash+MS)
Left all other settings alone...
DH says 'reboot system' last, then sits at black screen and turns my PSP off.
Help please?

EDIT:
Goddamnit!
Now I have 3.02 running, but when I launch a game image the PSP sits on the PSP screen and then shuts off....
WTF
EDIT 2:
