Even TA-082 boards should be able to run devhook AFAIK. Just make sure you get a PSP with 2.7 FW highest, everything higher than that can't run homebrew yet...

Yeah, But its much better to downgrade/custom FW. Nice and easy. Smile

You can't use custom firmware/downgrade on those motherboards. And you have to use the TIFF exploit most of the time.

I got my eyes on a 1.5 PSP +2GB memstick on e-bay (40 minutes to go).. hope I can get it for a £150 or less, but I don't fancy my chances.

it says it's the "Rare Japanese Version with Sharp Screen " .. is that good ?

Supposed to be better than the ones that are on USA and Euro consoles, Less chance of dead pixels. And I can agree, My screen sucks. (Euro) Rolling Eyes

I can't remember what ones the Euro and USA use, I'll tell you once I've googled. Smile

well after playing it a bit i can honestly say without a shadow of a doubt...

for espionage type games...

syphon filter still beats all... it truely is the greatest game avaliable on the system to date...

the controls in portable ops are kinda meh... its the only game i have where i DEFINATELY dont want to end up in a shootout because i know ill get my ass completely kicked... now if theyd made this game with the syphon filter setup but kept it more at the "more-sneaky-less-shooty" end of the spectrum, this woulda been a great great game... as it is, at the moment, its meerly a really good game. ill keep playing it as it seems to have a cool story, and has great graphics, but this is not the greatest game ever made for the psp.

Damnit, I followed the instructions and tossed MGS:PO on the mem stick...

I chose:

-> UMD SELECT > File Emulation > MGSPO.CSO (via 751MB ripkit)
-> FIRMWARE > firmware 3.01 (MS or flash+MS)

Left all other settings alone...

DH says 'reboot system' last, then sits at black screen and turns my PSP off.

Help please? Sad

Did you do the flash1 thing? , Or you might have misplaced the firmware dump. Might even be a bad dump if you've done something wrong using PSAR Dumper...

More details please. Smile

I had problems installing FW 3.02
I tried BlackSkulls easy installer and everything works fine.
Get it here
Then just download the 3.02 FW eboot and place it in the root folder. Copy over the devhook files, then start the application and after that you are nearly finished. Only thing left to do is flash to F1. Smile
