JBeckman wrote: | Don't know if that can be fixed but I'll see what I can do, but there's quite a few options in the INI wich controls view distance, culling distance, level of detail, vegetation, depth of field, cell distance and rendering.
Guess one will have to increase them all to see how it works.
ObjectDetails.
DistanceHigh.
DistanceLow.
Render.
Camera.
VegetationAdmin.
Entity.ROI
Those should be all settings that affect view distance and quality of far distance objects.
For that screenshot I TRIPPLED (+300%) all those settings and water still looks ugly.
(Foggy day btw or end of rendering distance, should see further, may have increased other settings as well)
The only setting I did not change was this one:
Render.PrefetchGridCellSize=10000
(Ran out of memory during game load with that one doubled)
EDIT: Or perhaps editing water directly?
(The "GothicIII\Data\Materials\ShaderMaterial\Effects" folder ) |
Yeah ive tried alot of that myself, the Render.PrefetchGridCellSize option actually gives you more detailed terrain at long distances, it should be set to whatever the DistanceHigh thing is set to.
Can be most noticable if you stand near the beach outside the rebel hideout and look at the n00bcities lighthouse, its cliff will become invisible along with the water if you got the detail distance ini-tweaked, but fixed with an identical PrefetchGridCellSize setting.
Unfortunatly the water isnt fixed as well
Oh well, playing it on the standard highest settings now (including the speed tree and mem fixes of course plus changed the DoF to start at 5000).
Man this is one fun game Just found the rebel dude in Cape Dun, and i just slaughtered him, and i got a new quest suceeded! Waz amazed, in most games things just fuck upp if you kill an important dude.
Then i slaughtered the entire Reddock camp So damn cool that you can do stuff like that and get quest rewards for it!!

Expansion....BHA! Don't you think they have enough to do for the next 4-8 month fixing patches for all the bugs?

Played it for a few hours now. Iim really disapointed that they've taken away 3 "key"-features, diving, lockpicking, climbing. Feels rushed like hell, like they only cared that it would look at least as good as Oblivion (but it doesnt imo) so they could at least get some TES fans to buy it. Glad i didnt bought it.

It runs smooth for me at high detail, just the white flashing is going to give me a fit if I play anymore

This game deserves to be warez just so Jowood goes out of business! They don't deserve to develop more games after a shit like that. Oblivion wasn't perfect, but compared to this crap, it's HDR rendered gold.

This game looks really shitty compared to oblivion, plus that one little thing that makes this game allmost unplayable. The ffing stuttering and constant hdd accessing.
Tried to put all options on high it still looks shittier than oblivion. Would do a fraps video to compare, but it's impossible. Not on oblivion but in this crappy piece of shit.
If you are considering of buying this game, DON'T! Cancel your orders, if you opened the box try to return it.
This should not be accepted by us, the consumers. Vote against this shit with the only thing that matters to them, with your wallet.
This game is in its beta stage and should not be bought until it's fixed so that it resembles a game.
Warez this game. Burn it to your friends, your enemies, give it free to everybody you know and don't know. Make this an example how not to do a game.
And for those who payed to be a beta tester and enjoy it: |
Some "look around" videos to compare ;p - dont mind the quality, had to compress

Thats my problem too, its horrible on the eyes...performance problems and graphical bugs I can understand, but white flashing when you look in certain directions...wtf were they thinking not fixing that?
Is there really no way to fix this besides waiting for a patch?

I wonder what the game wouldve gotten if it didnt have the Gothic name in it. The name alone probably ups the score by 3.
Sig too big. -Nothing is too big for Fedor. Expect a nasty armbar.
