From the nfo (Gothic_III-Razor1911):

Install Notes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Unpack
2. Mount or burn
3. Install the game
4. Install the Update from \Razor1911 dir
5. Extract crack.rar into your installation directory
6. Play & enjoy!
P.S.
Remember it's Jowood, so don't expect a bug-free game. (Also remeber it's
Razor1911, so DO expect a thoroughly cracked game! Smile
We'll do a cracked update once we feel the game has matured enough to make
it worthwhile.
Guess that the crack will be up on the usual sites in a few days, so no worries there.
Fast release though, tought tages/x-prot would be stronger.
(Hope we won't need any crackfixes or such for it either)
I'll have the release itself within a hour, I meant the time before the crack hits sites such as GCW and GBW.
(Though it could be faster depending on if they do daily or weekly updates - think it's weekly.)
yes , looks like they didn`t add enough memory for the trees , that where generated by Speedtree , this made this lag , but i turned off that fuzzy effect becoz it was a pain for my eyes
my setup is :
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
4 Gig ram
GF-7600GS
Windows xp 64 bit
I doubled mine just to be on the safe side.
(Should be OK assuming you have enough memory)
Code:
Cache.SizeImage=256000000
Cache.SizeMaterial=80000000
Cache.SizeMesh=140000000
Cache.SizeSound=160000000
Cache.SizeCollisionMesh=80000000
Cache.SizeAnimation=80000000
Cache.SizeSpeedTree=20000000
Also fixed the missing zero for speedtree cache further down.
EDIT: Could also try to increase them by just 50% instead of doubling them to increase ram usage somewhat but not take up all ram.
mike- my daughters computer is :
Amd 64 3500+
1 gig
Gf-6800gt
windows xp 32bit
and for her to play gothic 3 i set those parameters to :
ResourceCache.u32SpeedTreeMaxMemUsage_High=900000
Cache.SizeImage=134000000
and she can play with high settings with 24-29 fps , without those settings she could only play with 12-19 fps in towns 22-25 fps in the desert , o and i set the shadows to medium , so now she can play gothic 3 too
alright thanks dude, you rule. my comp is slightly better than hers (just the processor Razz) so i'll use those settings and turn off shadows. thanks a lot.
uhm correct me if im wrong but isnt Cache.SizeImage=268000000
= 268ram? default is 128000000 so it woud make more sense with 256?
either Cache.SizeImage=256000000
or better yet Cache.SizeImage=512000000
Thanks a lot that worked, I guess it doesn't work if you have a card with only 2.0 shaders or something
Why is this happening when i turn off depth of field?
 Spoiler:
Sorry if its been posted already Wink Btw thanks for the speedtree tweak, altough i dont need it it runs just fine, if depth of field is off that is Laughing
Edit: Fixed it Smile It was just a bug in the nvidia control panel (when will they fix it??) in which even tough you remove a profile the settings still apply! Even if you uncheck the anti-aliasing settings before you remove it.
You gotta re-create the profile, check the anti-aliasing line, set it to application controlled, THEN remove it with that line still checked.
Annoying old bug that i assumed was fixed Evil or Very Mad
Those tweaks are super! Makes Depth Of Field playable! Good job!
I cant believe how good this game looks, and it runs smooth as butter!!!!
Looks way way better than oblivion with those ini tweaks turned higher!
Here's my settings;
VegetationAdmin.ViewRange=5000.0
Cache.SizeImage=256000000
Render.DOFStart=5000.0
Render.DOFEnd=10000.0
DistanceHigh.fFarClippingPlane_High=20000.0 DistanceLow.fFarClippingPlaneLowPolyMesh_High=200000.0
ResourceCache.u32SpeedTreeMaxMemUsage_High=1000000
Tough i'm getting some water "dissapearing" bug with the higher clipping planes, so not using that until thats figured out :/
