ahh damn it my first out of memory error there. been playing a total of about 6 hours of the past few days and thats the first time its happened. luck of the draw i guess unless increasing all the visual stuff has made it more likely???
gonna have a try with the cache to try to improve things.
X6800 Core Duo wasted within a shite DFI 975x/g,
2GB OCZ PC8000 XTC XE, X1900 Crossfire(have my own powerstation), Audigy 2, Z680 5.1

if you have 2gb of ram you can set cache to
Cache.SizeImage=268000000
i've tried with 468000000 but got laggy, you can experiment with it though.

I read a lot of people on the official Gothic 3 forums are setting the Windows XP virtual memory to 2056mb. I might try that when I get home. The fact that a lot of people with high end systems are having performance issues suggests to me that the only thing any of us can really do is wait for another patch.
May the NFOrce be with you always.

LOL @ this thread. I've never seen a game that had to be edited as much as this one through the .ini.
GG.

Same as the other Gothic games though those had this cool command you could use to remove view distance completely. (Rendering the whole gameworld visible)

I've spent some time going through the INI files since then but it's midnight in the game now so no screenshots yet. (FPS goes down fast with these though so be warned) |
Jesus I barely notice any difference. The draw distance you have looks plenty good enough to me!

Really? I thought we were to thank Epsilon? |
Does it really matter? AnimalMother told me I figured the DoF part out myself, as my graphics card can't render without, go figure.
Another tip to set the lod fadeout distance (where npcs fade out)
Camera.ZNear=60.0 should give you quite a nice distance.

Dont want to be a prick,.. But for me tweaking means trying to increase preformance with as little as possible loss in quality,..

Sometimes game need increasing quality with minimal performance loss, i.e. Oblivion.
