well not that I agree with this but the whole point of them is so they can uncover terrorists.
so your main argument could be something like; it's a small sacrifice if it really does protect America from a terrorist threat from within the USA.
You could then maybe go a bit far fetched and then say it offers a piece of mind knowing that they're actively seeking constantly.
Maybe add about it 'slowing down the progress of terrorists because they need to find alternate ways of communication' (weak point I know, but it's still valid because I believe phone calls were made within the US between organizers).

Yeah, I thought of those already and am mentioning them in my debate, however, none of them are actually hard legal evidence that justifies these wiretaps, and that is something I desperatley need.

Well i'm pretty certain there are documents released on telephone calls made from the US between terrorists. This point alone backs up the other two.
