My 11 girl, cut her finger making a mothers day gift. 2 hours at the emergency room to get five stitches. It is never fun going to the emergency room at the hospital. Sad to see people in pain waiting to get treatment.

This same daughter broke her arm when she was 5, now that was a hellish night. Kids sure can stress up a parent.

She was making a candle, and was using a knife to cut up old candles to melt down.

Heh, I could say something criticising the American health care system when you have to wait in line for two hours with a huge cut... Razz But I won't. For now I'll just say that you seem like a good dad.

You know what you should do.
When she's all grown up and you are the fragile old man, break your own arm and cut your own finger, let her be stressfull about you in the emergency room then. Even steven.

I hope you didn't yell at her.

2hrs waiting is pretty good. Here it at least 4 hrs. Just a little while ago woman had to wait 14 hrs for a broken leg. I personally have never waited less than 6 hrs.

Breaking arms is never fun I have broken my arm 6 different times (No compounds). The first broken arm (grade 2) my dad was soooo pissed at me he was screaming louder then me and throwing things around the room. He had big skiing plans but he still went.

Iv only broken a tooth...

But about sons and daughters; i just read an article about an 12 year old boy who went for a swim(alone) and they found him dead later. And it was the families 2nd tragedy. Their 2 other daughers(10 and 12 years old) died in the water at an summercamp while they were playing with an bathing ring in 1998. :/

3 kids - all died in the water. Damn unluck? or maybe they have some kind of disease.

Then last night she got sick and threw up. 2:00 am and I was cleaning. No trip to the in-laws for mothers day, this year.

There is almost always a wait for non-critical treatments at a emergency room, the serious patients always go first. If you get hurt on a weekday, all you do is goto a walk-in clinic and it takes 30 minutes and all done. Getting hurt on a weekend sucks.

And no I didn't yell at her, but I did yell at a slow driver on the highway on the trip to the hospital. Laughing

Getting stiches are never fun for a child Sad

Remember when i was about the same age my smaller brother hit me right on the left side of my head with a bamboo grench, close to my temple. "Remembered" blacking out for about 10-15 seconds then waking up in the plastic pool with bloods on my hands with my brother standing.

3 stiches back then, blue Razz

Did this come out of your health insurance?

The only experience I personally have with the A&M room is when I sprained my wrist, I thought it was broken. I didn't have to wait more then an hour which I thought was pretty good on the NHS.

At the weekends though there are so many people who've been injured in alcohol related incidents it's ridiculous.

I went once to the emergency because of REAL high fever, I was in a doctor's office within 5 minutes, and all that for free thanks to the sweet belgian public healthcare :]

We did have to go to the one that was covered under my wifes insurance. Not my first choice.

Heh I cut my finger when I was 11 too... just playing with a butterfly knife. Fingers actually. Have a big scar over my first 3 fingers now. My ever-caring mother told me to suck it up. Great loving family I have compared to yours. Laughing Probably explains why I am browsing NFOrce and your children aren't Laughing

Pour girl, stitches such at a young age, well they suck at any age. Hope she doing good. I lost the tip of my left middle finger on my 10th birthday. sucked, but at least now ehn i give people the finger, they just laugh. haha. I can make it look like im pulling out my eye, or picking my noise real deep. haha.

I think the entire ordeal was harder on my dad, hey spent the night at the hospital in his wet swimming trunks, and i have never seen him looking so stressed. So I hope your doing ok. Smile
