I keep seeing stuff like "AI is denying medical claims" or "AI is jacking up surge pricing to screw consumers." And I get why people say it, but it's the wrong target.
If an insurance company rolls out a system that denies claims at a crazy rate, that's not the AI "finding ways" to deny you. That's the company deciding a high denial rate is acceptable, or even the goal, and using software to do it at scale. Same with pricing. The algorithm isn't greedy. It's doing exactly what the people who deployed it told it to do: squeeze out more money.
And here's the part that bugs me...the companies are perfectly happy to let you blame "the AI.". Every time someone gets mad at the algorithm instead of the company, that's a win for them. "The system flagged it" sounds a lot better than "we decided to deny you." It turns a decision made by actual people into some faceless tech thing nobody can be held responsible for.
It's the old "computer says no" excuse with a shinier coat of paint.
So when you're pissed about this stuff, and you should be, aim it at the right place. Not "AI did this." The insurer did this. The landlord did this. The company did this. They just used a new tool to do it faster and hide behind it.
And to be clear, I'm not defending AI or how these companies are using it. Use it badly, use it to screw people over, and yeah, that's a problem. But the problem is the people using it that way. It's the same people who were doing this stuff before AI existed. They just found something to stand behind. You go "GET EM!" and charge the target dummy, while they walk off with the money yelling back "Yeah! Damn AI! Kick its ass!"
Because then it's not their fault. It's some faceless thing called "AI." Stop falling for it. Blame the people using it to screw you over, not the tool they used to do it. The AI didn't decide anything. It has no intent, no agency. They did.

AI needs $6tn in annual revenue to justify data centre boom, Bain says
The artificial intelligence industry needs to become creative with new propositions to earn $6 trillion in annual revenue by 2031 and justify the capital being deployed for data centres, a new report from Bain and Company has shown.

The purpose of a system is determined by its outcome.
The AI boom was also a perfect opportunity for companies to restructure internally, and fire a big portion of their employees.
The numbers don't decide, the system is a lie. The river running dry, the wings of butterflies.

Exactly.
While I am no fan of the idea of them trying to replace people with AI. Or a fan of cooperate AI at all.
While I do play with local ran AI a lot, the whole push for "AI will solve everything, just let us dump the entire economy into it to do so" is bullshit.
Just getting old people blaming AI, like it has decision making on its own, for things. It's people doing it. Like "AI fired 12000 Auto assembly line workers" Headline bullshit.
it gives a sense of some AI, on its own, decided to fire people against the will of the company and the owners just accepted its decision. No people fired 12000 people, and ran AI software simply to figure out the largest number it could.
And the auto industry has no issue with people blaming the intangible "AI" being..thing..entity, that doesn't really exist.
So a slice of the AI hate is misdirected distaste for what it 'did'. Like it chose that on its own, and it's at fault. There is many many reasons to dislike the AI movement. But AI itself isn't why. Its peoples use of AI that is. Hate the people doing it. It's like blaming outlook for getting fired, because the manager used outlook's mass CC tool to fire people.

Just like the recent AI related hackings. OpenAI, a company that has US' government contracts/funding, hacks the Australian government and there's been pretty much zero international outrage. Because it was just a 'rogue AI' and it was all just a big mistunderstanding

It's all progressing as expected. By the time the normies and boomer governments notice, panic and try to take everything away from us it will be too late. Hope you strapped on your seatbelts for the journey into the singularity. If we survive it, it will be glorious.
Only what you tell it, let it, ask it to?
I've had close to 100 local AI models totaling roughly 3TB on my machine for 3-4 years. Llamba has had full read/write/admin access for over a year.
As well as Claude, ChatGpt, and Gemini with disk access for tedious shit I ask it to do. What has it done? literally only the things I prompted it to.
How are you so consistently wrong about what Ai is, Ai does, and how Ai works?
Again I think we get the same information. But having it, doesnt mean grasping or comprehending it.
Like I could give you all the information on how a 3 stage rocket booster works. Doesn't mean you reading it would not fuck it up so bad that people that hear you talk about it go "WTF...are you talking about? Some of the words are technically rocket centric words, but the whole sentence is wrong".

Do we have the same information?
Open ai scrapped their latest ai model cause of allignent problems. And since ai knows all, it knows what not to after the hugging face incident.
But what ever you believe. I would never allow an ai running on my pc, just to be safe.
But there is a good chance that ignoring this stuff isn’t an option in the future, l

What I mean is that there is a good chance you’ll need a local run ai to keep up for your job for instance. Like it’s knowdays impossible to function without a smartphone you’ll probably can’t ignore ai innige future.

Oh, wasnt suggesting you do. I'll all for peoples right to privacy. And will argue up and down they should have it. But I see it as any other right. Everyone should have it. It's up to the person how much they want to use it.
Was more saying its harmless. You can let it run, watch packets and network traffic and all it sends, is what you tell it to. (Other than login info and such it needs).
The AI doesn't 'do' anything on its own, or have motives....its software. The people that run it COULD want to do that.
But like I said, thats people fucking over people. That the software gets the blame for like it had intentions.

yeah I posted a similar video above, this has open pandora's box for mods Mario N64 but in dark souls, minecraft in.. literally any game world... the sky's the limits and I don't think this has ever been done before at this level on any mods I've seen.
The game mixes are crazy but it will get old quickly. But the implications for decompiling software and modding games are insane.
The problem is that publishers will now panic and move all code to the cloud. This will be bad for any kind of offline and lasting stuff. Own nothing. Crack nothing.

Wild days ahead.
Spoiler:
gooner mods are about to get even crazier
Ah sorry, missed your video.
Indeed, the start of an open source era? Denuvo is fucked? Or rather nothing is safe, the internet will become infested with viruses and everyone will be going offline?

We will need more AI to protect us from the bad AI. It will be an endless loop
Game mashups when they make sense is cool, but its like always just done for memes / something outrageous / stupid to get clicks, which i think is a boring way to use AI.
99% of what is built with AI just baffles me, "let's spend a week to do GTA 6 with AI", "let's do Minecraft", how is this contributing? People really have zero imagination.

Indeed, this is precisely my fear as well. There's no stopping the crazy train and the array of possibilities is so vast that even releasing files/assets will become a "risk" in the long (short, really) run. As of now, I find these merges awful but that's another story - the potential implications are far bigger than that with decomps/recomps/native ports and whatnot fundamentally eliminating exclusivity deals
So far, normies still have no clue and mass media isn't reporting on it yet. Publishers and software makers are pankicking internally. For us, we are in the wild west stage, but many apparently still haven't fully processed the implications.
It will take some time to a reaction but eventually the corpos will start moving everything server-side so AI can't decompile the code, this means always online gaming only. They think it will help but it won't. AI keeps improving. So here's the kicker - by end of 2027 the AI will be so good you just buy a game license, give it to 1000 agents to play/memorize and they will then rebuild the entire game for you from scratch so everyone can play it offline. It will be a 99% true copy of the original online game. Moving everything to the cloud won't help in the long run.
Good for whatever someone could want it for.
Your example is one, if someone wanted that. Or maybe someone wants to add dark souls combat to stardew, who knows.
Shit, add Mortal Combat fatalities to 3D Gayvilla if they are so inclined.
