Road to Vostok is a hardcore single-player survival game set in a post-apocalyptic border zone in northern Europe.

The game is being developed by passionate solo developer from Finland, committed to creating an exceptional first-person shooter experience.

What does the video and screenshots remind you of? Neutral

I'm about to try the demo that's available on steam. I don't have high hopes for this though. Single developer? 2.1 GB demo? It seems like a very ambitious project.

Maybe I'm wrong and it's actually good... We'll see.

We'll see more and more games like these. I've been vibe-coding Surprised just for one week with Claude (because we're doomed either way and hey, better know your enemy & all that jazz) and the things I've done and seen... God Gaben bless us.

not to burst your AI bubble, but this game predates the vibe coding buzz by a bit, probably not the one you want to fire these complaints at Laughing
that's not to say they didn't use it to finish the game but I really don't think most of this one had anything to do with AI, I've been watching this one for a good few years now

It's not for me. I tried the demo yesterday and it's quite rough. With another couple of years maybe.

The dev was clearly influenced by Stalker, at least when it comes to graphical style and setting.

The gameplay itself reminds me more of Generation Zero except it's taking place in the forests of Finland.

How do you even sprint? shift does nothing, i have nothing on me, i am not hurt (start of game). tried rebinding the sprint key, it has no effect. lol.

game looks quite bad, the uniform military green grass and trees got old quick. if you are going to have a game mostly set in nature, then make sure it looks interesting and nice. might be decent for an indie if its like a one or two person job.

uninstalled since sprinting doesnt seem to work, and/or just isnt explained. If it works like a normal game you can sprint if you are healed and not over encumbered.

wasnt what he said at all.

i agree, someone could probably vibe code something very similar. we will see bad vibe coded games and good ones, overall we will have more games, far more shit for sure, and some gems that sticks out...
