Starts pretty slow, but feels very authentic. Gameplay is one thing and quite simple, but the atmosphere is fantastic.

I was watching some tubefootage of the Italian version and while the Sicilian dub is there, it sounds disconnected from the game with no regard for whatever is happening on the screen. The result is pretty awkward, though still better than the horribly caricaturesque Engrish one Laughing

As for the heavy pad-centrism and dull mechanics, everything went exactly as expected. I ain't even mad at this point.

50 bucks for a 10 hour generic action adventure on rails. And people love it Laughing
Guess what those AAA devs are gonna do for the next decade.

20 years of the same design, but only some games get called console trash. Must be nice having your opinions pre-installed by streamers Laughing Imagine that. 2 fucking decades and you're still stuck on the console thing. But just for select titles of course. Not every title gets that treatment, like Red dead. Super fucking simple button masher with snap aiming. Basically console game.

Just finished it. Story was quite good up intil the finale then it dropped the ball. You kinda predict what'll happen but sometimes the way tings happen is the worst way possible. Yes, this is one of those times

Otherwise it's what i expected. Simple gameplay, linear story with a big world that doesn't really matter. Same as the other mafia games. Graphics is quite good, but it requires optimalization. DLSS for example was quite wonky and broke the UI during movement, weird artifacts in certain situations etc.

As for the comedy/less serious stuff people mention.. Where is that? game is deathly serious and quite grim. Has some scenes with the boys when they go out, but that was it for goofy stuff and it was like once or twice.

Playtime was 15 hours but i was collecting a bit here and there and only skipped driving once or twice when it was far and i was the only one in the car.

7/10 is my grade overall. Feels like it's back to 360 era which is great. But the optimalization needs work and the story should have been less predictable.

Imagine putting RDR2 and a Hangar13 Mafia game in the same sentence, and pretending not to see a difference greater than the grand canyon

yeah... RDR2 ruined me for these type of games sorry. They all have simple ass gameplay but RDR2 at least draws you in with the absurd attention to detail.

One thing I really don't like is highways instead of small road paths of real Sicily. Every single road in this game is wide enough for four doubledecker buses. Very USA design. Where are claustrophobic roads that can barely fit a single Cinquecento, yet are somehow still two-way?

Braindead difficulty. I remember old Mafia games having demanding racing sections.

[Dirt 3 intensifies]

Hangar always operates with the lowest common denominator in mind, so turning thrilling and potentially engaging driving sequences into a drifting session for the Toretto aficionados is just par for the course. There's no subtlety in any of their designs, everything is made to be palatable for the couch bros who play games as background noise like some semi-interactive Netflix show.

For what it's worth, the fast travel option that can be accessed from the main base and/or simply by camping anywhere (all you have to do is upgrade Dutch's tent + Arthur's tent) is pretty effective at slimming things down. I never used it since RDR2's reactive open world with its immersion and random events is one of the game's strongest suits, but it is an option for those who dislike our equine pals Razz

the gameplay mechanics in RDR2 are super deep in comparison to many or we could argue MOST games.

 Spoiler:

So while "simple" on the surface it has many complex systems which elevates it beyond what most games in that genre does, even going beyond many RPG's.

I bet many people doesn't even know you should greet NPC's, they'll think it has no gameplay impact because we are not used to that sort of details/dynamics.

I meant the actual combat. Like melee and shooting. There is no debating the technical marvel that is RDR2 on many fronts.

played for a few chapters and i like it, story is the usual mafiozo but very well acted and very good looking game, its very linear like mafia 1, cant even go 10 meters away without getting a warning message, nothing to explore, not much combat its been mostly cutscenes walking and talking, nothing to do in the world so far except looking at it
