Wrestling movie based on a true story, also Zac Efron on steroids.

Had potential, but the journo framing ruins it beyond salvation.

Civil War: 6/10. Agree with toni, the journalist angle didn't work for me. Last half hour was best and looked great. First hour or so was pretty medicore. There should've been more story/introduction, it felt like a bunch of loose fragments more suitable for a TV show.
Contagion: 7/10. Nothing groundbreaking, but well done.
Erin Brockovich: 8/10. Great movie, Albert did such a great job here
A Few Good Men: 9 salutes out of 10

Logan Lucky: 7/10. Daniel's character in this Laughing
Lawrence of Arabia: 6.5/10. The restoration looked great, but sadly the movie didn't live up to my expectations. 3 hour 45 minutes is just far too long. If they'd recut this, added some bits here and there, and take at least 1.5 hours of camel riding out of it it'd easily be an 8/10 movie.
Training Day: 7.5/10. Good one.
Wall Street (1987): 8/10. Nice!

The Fall Guy 6/10
Should have just made a movie about stunts without all the bs in between.

Kim's Video 7.5/10
As mentioned in RLM's year review, a nice documentary that takes unexpected turns.

Oppenheimer 6/10
Finally saw it, and boy what a let down Laughing
Typical (modern) Nolan movie; when you take a step back from all the bombastic dialogs and music, you come to realise there's almost zero substance and many things don't even make sense. Tenet, Interstellar, Dark Knight Rises, etc all have this.

There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.

Civil War - 6/10

I don't know what Garland wanted to tell with this movie or even if he wanted to. War crimes happens but no one really cares. Journos are vultures and don't care about people tragedies? People are animals?

The most interesting part - the fall of USA are just a set piece for the journey and is really half-baked.

Also the fucking sound mixing and the choice of songs

At least acting was good and delivered.

Sting - 5/10
I liked the Wormwood movies from the director of this, unfortunately it was rather downhill journey from there. Definitely bettery than his previous movie. Sting tries too hard to be in style of Ted Raimi but just doesn't deliver, it's like Kiah Roache-Turner watched Evil Dead while doomscrolling and didn't pay enough attention. Overall it wasn't bad but it wasn't good - just undercooked mediocre creature feature.

Hypnotic - 3/10

I was browsing prime video wanting something to watch, I was like oh Ben Affleck with a cool looking premise let me watch it. This movie is an example of why you check reviews before you put something on sigh. Least it was only 90 min or so lol.

Story/script was just complete nonsense.

The Fall Guy - 5/10

Exactly as shallow as advertised, with the technically competent (over)action surrounded by inane dialogues and Leitch's signature kool groove that unfortunately I tend to find more cringe-y than stylish. It's definitely one of the movies of all time.

The Last of USA: Press War - out of focus/10

How to tell a story without saying anything, which works up to a point thanks to its fairly solid acting along with the familiar dystopian post-Muricalyptic tone where fungi and zombies were replaced by random tribalisms and orange allusions. The problem is, there's not enough meat to the bone and ultimately the one more picture-driven drama comes across as a bit silly (and predictable), not quite the ideal outcome for something that's supposed to be engaging/whatever Garland thought it would elicit here.

Godzilla -1 - +7

A bit melodramatic, a bit lost opportunity on the human department. Light years forward than its Hollywood counterparts on those, tough.
Special effects, for the budget, were great (special mention to God of the Zillas munching battleships in the middle action piece!)

L.A. Confidential: 9/10. Great movie.
Moneyball: 7.25/10. I'm not at all into baseball but it's decent watch.
Side Effects: 7.5/10. Nice twist.
The Usual Suspects: 8.5/10. Also a great movie, been a while since I've watched it.

I really loved the non-godzilla parts. The one drama surrounding him being a failed pilot was great.

Annihilation: 8/10. The good kind of Garland movies.
Charlie Wilson's War: 7/10.
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb: 9/10. Shame it's in black and white, but what a performance by Peter Sellers
The Gauntlet: 7/10.
Hot Fuzz: 8/10.
Sleepers: 8.5/10. Has a little of everything, well done
Space Cowboys: 6.5/10. Questionable plot but had its moments (mostly those in space).
Westworld the movie: 5.5/10. Way, way too much about being followed by the gunslinger.

Poignant, very good acted and sometimes slow to a fault tale of an inhumane atrocity.

Movies typically need 2-2.5x budget. Budget is said to be ~185M, that'd be 460M needed. It made 380M in box office, so just 80M for home sales + streaming money? Seems possible.
