Thank god! Me and a friend spent, no shit, 25 minutes with all helpers off trying to figure out how to start a passenger airliner once in this game.
I know we could do easy mode, but we are both the type to not read anything or lookup anything out of game in any game and the enjoyment is figuring it out. (Should have seen us trying to do factorio long ago, with zero info what it was other than a game called factorio)

After 25 minutes total we got both our planes started in MP sharing "OHH that button/switch did something important", then after 35 minutes total we was both crashed in the lake..haha

What, you mean in real life, to fly these things, it’s not just pushing flaps and pulling brakes, like Kurt Russel did in Executive Decision? Laughing

Not only that, but things you never think of until you try to fly one.
After we fumbled around and got all the engines started (at least we think we did) he was following me to the runway, and didnt turn where we decided and needed to backup.

And we realized "Wait, how...do you backup an airliner? There has to be a way, right?" then slapping switches and buttons and watching him move forward a foot, pause "NOPE that didnt do it". Move forward a foot, pause "Nope, that didnt either" then me "Flip more switches try the ones above your head"...to just eventually loop around in the grass to get back on the runway...lol
Still no idea if they can backup on thier own. We never figured it out.

But I can say, In VR watching a giant airliner scream past you at a 45 degree tilt sideways and also headed to the ground almost touching winging with you, while you yourself are trying to figure out why your plane is trying to go in a vertical stall itself staring at nothing but blue sky straight up, and the cockpit voice is yelling at you "STALL" over and over while I am uselessly telling it "I am trying you dumb plane GO DOWN", is a bit unnerving.
 Spoiler:

Ever thrown poorly made paper airplanes and watched them squirrel around in the air and nose dive? We spent 30 minutes getting them into the air, to do that, and enjoyed every minute of it.

Also same here, I successfully did my first flight on the go with this A310 but I had to spent like 30 mns to how to start these damn engines until I realized this big ass needed ASM (Air support unit) from the ground.

The 320 Neo definitely spoiled me, it looks like a one push button to start in comparison.

And for the Airliner's backup solution once in the wild, in the sim I guess you can still use 'SHIFT-P' to start/stop a pushback
or
you can use reverse thrust

In real life though, they don't use reverse at still or when less than 70 kts otherwise the engine may suck up some FOB (foreign object) and be damaged.
All they can do is call a tug truck or maybe some voluntary passengers ^^

Wink

People are heavily defending the Helicopters flight model.
I find them really bad. I wasn’t expecting DCS level of modelling but I find no enjoyment in flying them at all.

Very disappointed 😔

Great remake of the original trailer. But broke the illusion when two people was playing it on a laptop, and their cut away gameplay wasn't lowest settings and still only 15fps Laughing

The graphics look utterly insane, but I wonder how complex the activities (missions ?) will be. A proper-ish story mode would also help.

If you or anyone else points them out like that, yeah. But overall they are so slight that otherwise I wouldn't.

Same here.

I was focused as follow :

Plan 1 : The lady pilot
Plan 2 : The landing gear
Plan 3 : That "Remove before flight" thingy

Very Happy

I can live with these framegeneration's artefacts as long as they permit me to have 120fps instead of 50ish Wink

I have OCD about that shit. It’s the only thing I can focus on. Every approximation has its artifacts, but this generation of screen space horse manure is just unbearable to me.

Doesnt bother me, I rather have decent visuals that for the most part looks realistic for a game that is mostly 'look at stuff casually'.
I'm sure its just personal preference but I'd take this any day over pixel art, or the stop motion/old school limited FPS emulation some games do.

Not that they are comparable. But accidental limitations I will take over fake replication of old school ones any day Very Happy

I've gotten more and more observant of that shit and I highly suspect it's because of you, at least in part Laughing
I can't use DLSS despite getting a RTX card for it to begin with, the smear over the screen, the constant artifacts just ruin any immersion for me, it feels like I need glasses or something all of a sudden. Native or nothing ! Very Happy

I'll use it when I have no other choice (Cyberpunk, typically, which can only run with FF - a fucking travesty), but it's very concerning : all DLSS/FSR solutions should have been just aids for struggling hardware/a way to get extra performance for insane resolutions.. not something that's factored into basic performances.

Having grown in a different era, artifacts of low resolution don’t really bother me. So I don’t mind playing games at 1440p, even if it’s nOt TeH nAtiVe ReSoLuTiOn Laughing

TAA in general is very peculiar and very dependent on implementation. Some are very artifacts-prone, while others are much better. I’m not really up to speed on specific details what makes it go one way or the other. DLSS adds more sins on top of TAA, so it’s not surprising.

We are all sensitive to different artifacts. I don’t remember being this annoyed in the past. Perhaps the black halos from old SSAO, but the “SS” in that acronym kind of tells the tale. Laughing
