I loved the Gentlemen ffs.

Anyway, any point watching this if I've never played the games?

Gentlemen the movie was great, but the TV show didn't really pan out too well.

I don't think it's a good choice for people that haven't played the games IMO, there's a bit too much stuff that doesn't have enough exposition to be clear.

I must admit i was quite blown away by the first episode, if it continues like that i'm in Very Happy

yeah, there are many references to the games that you won't get if you didn't play them, stuff you just won't think is cool because you have no connection to it or you won't even know what it's suppsoed to do / be. That will make it a bit worse than for someone who knows the lore.

I thought this was alright. Can't stand the Denzel Washington impersonator though.

Gotta agree with Tim Cain (just watched his take on it), they nailed the humor and looks. You can tell Nolan played the games and he's a fan.
Episode 2 was great too.

Had to rewatch some of episode 1 because i was so concentrated on looking at shit, forgot to listen to dialogue and following what was really going on. Noticed Tim said the same haha

After 2 episodes, I think I'm gonna skip it, not my vibe. Feels kinda cheap, plastic-y, stiff, sterile. They got the aesthetics right, but it lack some sort of grit IMO.

I'm slowly growing into it, I have to admit Smile The slapstick stuff is stupid, but when Matt Berry showed up as a robot, I was grinning Very Happy The acting is in general pretty good and I like how they take the subject matter serious.

I heard BoS and NCR are poorly represented in the tv show. Is that true?

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

not sure why so many complains about the humor? did you even play the games? even 1-2 has a lot of humor, even pop culture references. the slap stick is like 3% of the show so extremely easy to look past too. if it had a too serious tone it wouldn't feel like fallout.

Minor spoilers, but the town was shown in the trailer anyway so:

It's dumb. Shady Sands should be closer to Vegas, but they moved it to LA because you can see it from the Griffith observatory.

So yeah, the lore related writing is kinda bad for me, especially since it feels like Shady Sands being in LA was done mainly because they wanted a reference to the games.

The comedy bits I don't mind, since that's pretty much Fallout, and I think the worst of it is mainly due to how badly the CG is for the T-60 in some of the slapstick scenes.

For me, the worst thing is probably the Vault-tec related stuff that kinda ruins the world for me.

 Spoiler:

I think the show would have been better if it wasn't in California. I also think the show would have been better if it was all set in pre Great War America and / or surrounding states.

The Vault-tec plot is retarded. No sane person would do that in the name of profit. Dead man can't pay.

finished and while i only played fallout 4 so i cant speak about the lore i very much liked this until the end, i think it was great, had enough mistery to it and the humour was just enough but then it also gets serious so its a good balance. but its funny how much it feels like westworld sometimes.

I'm 6 episodes in, and the show is indeed really, really good. I too expected a total shitstorm, so I'm pleasantly surprised, and enjoying the ride!

Binged it last night. Overall it was pretty good and better than I expected. Having played the games, I enjoyed all the little nods, homages and tributes. Dumb and funny more often than not but entertaining for sure with some great hyper violence and gore. The music was also great with so many of those excellent Fallout radio tracks so I’m gonna keep an eye out for the OST! Apparently season 2 has been given the green light but may as well forget it about it for a couple of years now lol.

 Spoiler:

I gotta say I’m looking forward to a new playthrough with the next gen update of Fallout 4 after watching this Very Happy

The ending is as if the geniuses over at Bethesda had written it, but otherwise, a solid and entertaining ride altogether. Bring on season 2.

just finished it here what a pleasant surprise overall and Goggins definitely adds a lot of value to it.
I wasn't expecting much, especially with Todd involved but it is actually good, I enjoyed it and look forward to season 2.
