So, just played the latest build for 1h30 and, well, it's bad:
(ultra/high settings)
-The "showcase ride" about that city being bursting with life, was a ride through empty streets. Saw a handful of pedestrians in total, maybe 5 cars, in what is supposed to be a ride accross Manhattan.
-Corridor fights are alright, but enemies keeps fraging themselves/allies, run around without a plan or in such a slow, scripted way you can just waste them by running and gunning without much thought.
-In-game cutscenes had i.e. the first one with Duke generated in total 2 crashes off the cutscene's forced perspective and the Duke's car running over (slowly and thouroughly it seems ) some other random soul (again, just heard a scream and felt the bump ).
It's janky all around. You arrive at a quest's destination, only for the NPC you need to materialize in front of some door or on some bench after sometimes a solid 20 seconds.
So far? Not impressed at all. Really went into it with fresh eyes and no expectations, but the duct-tape job it is just shows again and again...
Hope some of you find some enjoyment in it, because AFAIK this is too little, too late.
As tasty as next-day microwaved leftovers from a dubious take-away.

^ I know exactly what you are saying.
I think the people that managed to get over these problems (myself included) are the ones that accepted that "duck tape" to be part of the whole picture now.
And since there is NOTHING like this on the market, well... standards are lowered, concessions are made, eyes are closed and the game will be still nominated as... best of... nothing else, really.
EDIT
And when something as boring due to lack of innovation like Starfield comes, well... you make comparisons with what you already have and know, right?!
That's why I see SO MANY people around saying:
Starfield made me appreciate Cyberpunk 2077 more!

It's just lifeless. What really puzzles me if how after all this 3 years-long V2.0 thing, all the mods and such, they still fucked it up something other games did better (a) decade(s) ago.
It's just a bastardized lesser version of whatever so many greater games do better already.

I think the world itself is great, so much shit the NPC's can do, cool to see the random fights etc. There are tons of new open world games where the NPC's are way, way worse and the world is more lifeless than this.
Never seen any NPC's materialize in front of me yet either.
Elder Scrolls are far better with the amount of interactivity though.

Hopefully they don't blow all their money on movie stars for the next one, and instead put it towards making a more believable / interactable / lively open world.
Not only did I not care for this game's "twist" - I feel like it more or less ruined the remainder of the main story. They could have done so much with the corporate vs. gangers vs. nomad angles - but instead they've gotta plaster Keanu's involvement all over the fucking thing to sell copies. Such a shame.
By all accounts the dude is a good guy, but his involvement in this title more or less crippled it from realizing its full potential story wise - the money could have been far better spent elsewhere.

Amen. Unless the game is based on a movie, I don't really see why games need to have famous actors. It's good for marketing, but I don't think it's really added much to any of the games I've played.

imo it himpered the RP prospect of the game since there's no getting away from Johnny silver. Never cared for celebrities in games, it's a nice to have I guess after the game mechanics are finished and ready for it but it clearly was a crutch to sell a broken game at release.

Upgradable cars would have been nice too. I forgot how you get them given to you left right and center
It is much nicer to play this time around though. It runs a lot better than with my 3080 and the cinematics don't break nearly as much (but oooh, they still break!)

^ Eh, it may make sense to 'see' you if they do PING you (just like you do). So it's not THAT much of a problem / immersion breaking (for me. at least).
Actually their grenades make the fights a bit more challenging. IF you have good instincts you can shoot those grenades in the air even without slowing down time.

I was only talking about grenades 'chasing' you being lobed at you, even if you're in cover and non visible to some NPCs.
I won't say anything about bullets flying through the wall since I didn't had such fights.
But aren't there some kind of tech weapons that actually CAN FIRE THROUGH WALLS?!

There are power type sniper rifles and tech weapons that can (from what I've found so far), except Mr Sniper's buddy over there is using an SMG to shoot through the same barriers
Edit: they were tech weapons, a tech-smg and a tech-revolver

6.7 is a bit too low, but it is still very broken. These are just from playing today:

I think i prefer Steam over Metacritic tbh, at least on Steam we have a verification that the person at some point bought it. And the more controversy around a game there is the less i trust metacritic because you will absolutely see review bombing for such games. It happens on Steam too if something is truly shit..
Even if we don't get a BIG patch i do hope they fix the worst issues, and hopefully soon.

CD Project has had that info about the Glitch effect workaround up on their site I think since the DLC came out, yet they cannot do an actual hotfix for the problem right away, just seems lazy. I wonder if they are just going to remove that line all together as a quick and dirty fix and just move on since the game is relegated to the D team now for any fixes.

It might be that they don't want a dirty fix and want to do it properly

PC peasant race better buy a PS5, methinks. |
