Edit: I like how even the main quest takes you through those copy + paste facilities you see everywhere They don't even randomise the interior to the exterior. Literally copy + paste. I've seen the frozen underground one maybe 4 times now. Crazy. This was such a big issue in Oblivion with it's dungeons.
bethesda still doesnt know how to do realtime procedural stuff at all, no surprise there
i think i have done maybe 6 repeat POIs over 80 hours (usually a cave or ship).. locations with the same name are often the same POI i think
Was going to download some fix then i realized why i stopped using mods for their games and also for the Witcher 3 when i played that the last time lol
"Oh but remember you also need these mods: 1, 2, 3, 4!"
Goes to 1.
"please remember you also need 1, 2 and the extender and the game must be build 1543132b4!", "also here's how to edit files x and y!".
Goes back to download 2... "oh, you also need..."
fuck off, i'm too old and there too many other games
This must be a placebo since I didnt notice any difference. As you'd expect from a reddit "fix".
There is no fixing this stupid engine
It do be true.
Tested on both 3070 desktop and 3060 laptop, but it's just 3-5 fps as mentioned.
Noticed nothing here, but DLSS3 is doing most of the work now. It almost doubled the FPS everywhere, so a 5-10 FPS increase by the above 'fix' would hardly be recogniseable.
When I was using the latest version of the DLSS3 fix it was crashing at least once an hour, and sometimes I had to restart the game when it's go all choppy. Going back to v2 DLSS3 fix made it work and I haven't crashed since. It's actually veeeery smooth now.
Don't worry guys, just keep on playing, the payout here will be clear once you get through NG+++++++++++++++++ and end up starting the next NG+ in Tamriel because surprise! That's what the 25 years of waiting for the tech to catch up was actually for, packaging their first game with modern game design inside Starfield.
Can confirm. Dead bodies + mines are literally in the same places each time, even if you go to a new planet.
It's inexcusably lazy. At the very least they could have randomized some placements
beth don't do procedural, people wanted handcrafted and they got it
dynamic poi placement on the other hand is a godsend, it's more impressive than i imagined, or i just haven't discovered what is wrong with it yet.
definitely wish they would just full send with procedural generation but everyone always complains when a dev tries.. and i'm sure bethesda would just fuck it up entirely anyway
Had to buy this mostly for benching and content creation stuff. Though the game looks quite interesting it seems that I wont have a time for this in a while.

they only had 400 more people working on this than previously (100).... you can't ask them to do too much...
Toddy boy got ripped off. Or maybe you could say they ripped microsoft off because this certainly doesn't seem like much of an improvement. those 400 likely mostly just sat around and drank coffee and ate donuts would be so interesting to hear from people working there if this actually was the case.
