I mean you are entitled to your opinion, but i find that to be horseshit. It was pretty good even vanilla.
I did not liked it one bit, friend.
Consolised experience, abysmal performance at launch, forgettable characters, simplified systems (even compared to Oblivion), regenerating HP, no more repairs, level scaling, (below) average combat etc.
But hey, it's fine.
Starfield will break all records and be considered by Geoff Keighley the best game in the galaxy.
I'm just going by logic. Elder scrolls has smaller maps so it's easier to make it look good and populate it just right. When you drag in the universe and a multitude of planets then it's gonna be shit. Main story might be alright, but everything else is gonna be shit. Mark my words
It looked horrible. Unnatural rock formations, atrocious LOD props... Christ, It was one of the ugliest game I've played (vanilla).
Bethesda should organize a 'we're-kissing-your-legs' event for it's dedicated and passionate mod creators. They transformed the looks of the game beyond recognition...
Skyrim 'won' because THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE LIKE IT on the market.
I don't agree with that except for character models for example. Most open world games definitely look worse than linear ones as they render so much at the same time.
The team at Bethesda shared on Wednesday that Starfield has gone gold, meaning the game's launch version is finalized and development is done. Physical copies of the game can now be printed, while Starfield preloads for digital players will begin on August 17 for Xbox Series X|S users, and August 30 for Windows PC players.
There is also a Q and A with two of the devs who will be answering 16 questions in the next 10 minutes apparently
・ You can buy houses in all the major cities. Some are purchased, some are rewards for quests.
・ Your Kid Stuff parents' models are based off your character model. There are set voice actors for your parents, though.
・ In character creation, you can select an "anonymous" background and no traits.
・ Some items are considered contraband, which are illegal everywhere, and will need to be smuggled past security ships orbiting major settlements.
・ Contraband is hid using special ship modules that you can purchase.
・ Economy is fixed but prices for bought and sold items can be changed with different Skills only.
・ When you're arrested, you can either go to jail, pay or fine, or resist arrest and try to escape.
・ Time passes only when playing.
・ All faction questlines can be completed independently.
・ The Crimson Fleet questline will have a mission where you are presented with the choice to be an undercover agent within the United Colonies SysDef military.
・The game will have a selection of non-lethal weapons, but whole pacifist playthrough might be difficult.
・ Persuasion challenges are specific scripted moments in most quests that have a main character confront you.
・ Starfield has 3 main religions, but other real-life religions exist within the universe.
・ House Va'runn will be a primarily antagonistic group.
・ There will be over 20 available Companions, each with their own Background. They can follow you and carry your stuff.
・ 4 Companions are from Constellation. Companions will also be tied to main quests.
・ Assigning crew members to outposts only costs a one-time payment.
・ Separate from your available Companions, there will be generic crew that you can hire for outposts and ships.
・ Companion Skills don't level up and have fixed ranks.
・ Mechs are outlawed and not usable in Starfield, but you may encounter an "old mech battleground" at some point.
So, basically, 99% of stuff they have in previous games (F4, Skyrim).
Absolutely nothing new, innovative, extraordinary. We've seen it all before...
So much hype created with major bullshit.
EDIT ---
So many questions still stand:

• how big are (the spaces from) the planets that you land on?
• is there ANY (at all) challenge in this game?
• can you fail?
• can you die?
• can you have romances and sex them up?
• can you run out of oxygen?
• can you die from planet hazards?
• is this game as streamlined as Skyrim?
• will it have a Survival mode like Fallout 4?
• will the monsters and creatures level up with you / will it have level scaling?
• can you play the game offline?
• are the frame-drops a sign of CPU or GPU limitations?
• why is my mother-in-law so annoying?
• who the fuck is Alice?
