It still could have the option of just saying "Not interested in a romance." I mean it would depend on your character what you would say i think.

Like in most games with so called ""choices"" it would likely be the same outcome as saying "this isn't friendship", you'd disappoint him and that's it, you'd have the same reply in both, but at least there would be a fake feeling of having choice.

FFS! - A2, don't do temple first, do tower or else again bunch of quests break without you knowing Neutral

Romance - It does, it's very clear where the scene is going take the first option to shutdown conversation and continue playing game.

good rant.

Beastiality, forced gay romances = clap your hands. so courageous, so stunning, so funny, more of this in all games.

Attractive woman with big boobs = "take your porn out of our games, this is hurtful for women! Censor this garbage!"

My scene with Gale on the field was very different. It was just friends talking. Nothing about it even hinted romantic. I had called off the romance at the first chance I got earlier and the game adjusted to it.

In fact, as I've done this systematically with all companions, there's been zero lovey-dovey advances since early act-1 except with Minthara, who I actively pursued.

Haven't even come across Minthara, but reading about her, I can guess why Very Happy

The only one I gave attention to is the cleric. I've helped out on each companion quest as much as possible to this point.

So far most of the default companions (male and female) from chapter 1 have hit on me in some way and I haven't given them any sort of romantic attention. From memory Astarion was the first, and that was very early on.

Yeah they all hit on you once, but if you bluntly cut it off right then, it's the only time they do as far as I've seen in late act 2. Seeing how Gale's scene went for you vs me, maybe you've been leading him on a bit instead of being clear right at the start? I dunno. Very Happy

Finished after 95 hours (or a 110 if the steam counter is to be believed).

Aside from constant crashes in Grymforge (turning dlss down to balanced helped) I only enountered one gamestopping bug in act 3 (well I say gamestopping, but it was a sidequest related to main quests), but thankfully there was a workaround for it.

I achieved what I think is the optimal good ending. Everyone who could be saved was saved, all loose ends were tied up, no companions fell into despair and self-loathing.

I do wish they included ending slides, because right now all we get is a piece of banter, and apparently they are not considering expansions.

Well there's not much you can do during your first visit to the tower, but it's somewhat beneficial.

Doing most of the temple is fine, however going to where you mentioned is a point of no return, and the game should inform you about it.

I watched a video where a certain NPC joins your camp, excited she will accomopany an adventurer.
Guess what happens next Very Happy ?

Dark Urge will be my second playthrough, it's completely unpredictable.

That's precisely my plan as well. I'm being a disgustingly lawful good guy in this current run playing as Gayle [insert guy tapping at head meme], but I already look forward to unleashing every single evil urge in my next playthrough as a disruptive chaotic master knob. The general experience probably won't change much but I reckon there are going to be some surprises and unexpected reactions that make it worthwhile Very Happy Laughing

I've had a considerable amount of quest breaking things, at least 3-4 in my log now that just can't be cleared. A2 was considerably rougher than the start of the game, I've reloaded and lost 1-2 hours a couple of times now.

I think it predominantly comes down to timed events, you could solve it at least indicating in some way that 1/50 tasks you encounter is timed.

Can you do the Mountain Pass at the same time as the Underdark? For example, if I do most of the Underdark, can I do the Mountain Pass, then come back and finish the underdark?

After some comments here, I'm paranoid about where quests might get messed up when entering new areas

I did all underdark, then switched to mountain pass. All the content can be done but you just have to do Grymforge the moment you go there and don't backtrack.

Honestly if you skipped mountain pass I wouldn't restart. It doesn't have much, it's mostly combat and has one of the worst designed skill checks and penalties i've seen in a CRPG.

For Act 2:
- Clear all content on the map first before switching to any large areas.
- Find Rolan the moment he goes missing, save prior to the encounter.

You don't have to worry about XP, I've probably avoided 50% of fights and am over-levelled.

That A2 skill check though :/ any buff/debuff should be displayed in the UI when its applied, same for timed quests, "this quest requires urgency.." whatever.

Definitive edition will be the full polished game, it's absolutely playable but I think a little rough after the EA content.

It still doesn't have any day/night cycles or any kind of NPC schedules either?

How is there a mod for WASD-movement?? how do you otherwise control, just with the mouse, clicking where you will go? pretty laughable if so.

That mod looks pretty cool, might give it a shot.

I still can't stop staring at that shitty clusterfuck skill bar that manages to take up half the screen and yet still be somehow useless. Both it, and the crappy skill/spell icons gotta go!
