Heh, it's funny that fanboys always call these features "gimmicks" until their vendor adopts them.
Then it's a great open source technology that should be used in everything. Like it still is with raytracing.
Because raytracing performs comparably poorly on AMD cards it's still just a gimmick to them.

The 30 Series FE cards were already heavy like a brick, I can just imagine how much heavier these new cards will be. Vertical mounting will probably get more popular with these new monsters.
I reckon consoles will get popular when the price of these new monsters release. Especially when games like eldenring run worse with any GPU than a ps5.
I got 3080 FE on release and I like how small it is... I mean it is still huge but not stupidly so like aib cards.

Guess e-sports make quite a bit of $$$$ then, but a vast majority of people could give less of a fuck to playing a game (especially an "ahnline" hero shooter like valorant, overwatch 1,2 or 5) at 500Hz.
Everything else is just meh, derpman 3 still looks subpar even with RTX, reflex is for previously mentioned "ahnline" shooters.

The shit game they chose doesn't even update effects at 500hz. You can see that the character is moving smoothly, but the smoke behind it updates at much, much lower framerate. But don't let details ruin it for espurrt morons.
Can you even see the difference anymore, like lets say 240 vs 500 (unless you slow down your gameplay by 1000% and watch it with magnifying glass), if you can, I doubt its anywhere near like 60hz vs 120hz/144hz.

If that is true, I wonder if they are doing it that way so the bad binned 4090s would become 4080s and the same with the 4080s would become 4070s. Plus it would get people to spend more as many will want to get the newest card right away and not wait a few months after probably skipping the 30 series just due to the Pandemic pricing.
