You're saying a 3070 Ti *should* cost about 450€???
why not?! is it anything special?!
At $499 (about £395, AU$720), with much improved performance, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super offers a much better value than Nvidia Turing did at launch.
i dream about this:
When can we expect quantum computers?
Studies have already predicted that quantum computing will become a multibillion-dollar quantum industry as early as 2030. In fact, quantum computing and quantum communication are poised to have a transformative effect across a multitude of industries, ranging from healthcare and energy to finance and security.
Well, I just sold my Vega 64 for 420€ to some miner which is 20€ more than I paid for it. But I left the Morpheus Cooler on, so I lost like 50€. After 3 years of sometimes heavy usage, I'd say 50€ is not much of a loss.
Now the 1060 3GB I have in my htpc will have to do until I find something else.
No gaming at the moment either anyway so I can wait.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
My Card came yesterday and my god, its a beast and eats graphic settings like snacks. Control looks really nice but if i had to choose between Paytracing and not i would say keep it, no must have but nice to have. DLSS on the other hand is something you dont wanna miss, you cant see it but even on 4K you can crank your game up and its still running like a god.
I have to admit I find RTX rather underwhelming overall, devs have come so far with alternative solutions and pre-baked lighting that RTX manages to do.. just as well, not exceptionally better - it's not surprising and doesn't make the technical achievement any less impressive, but for the end user.. I don't know. It only really shines with reflections hence the metric ton of "wet road at night" screenshots, since you can barely make the difference out versus non-RTX without it.
Had a good impression of DLSS but its implementation in RDR2, pretty much the only game I have the use for it (bar CP2077, in which you just can't play on 1080p+ without it), was very disappointing to me. It just looks terrible as soon as your view moves and I didn't get used to it - I tried. It can apparently be optimized by using more recent DLSS dlls and using various control panel settings.. well, I'll just go with native resolution and a couple options turned on medium.
All in all, wouldn't have missed much with an AMD card at this moment, I'll see what the future holds for RTX and DLSS.

Yeah exactly what i thought. When i started Control - it looked nice but i have seen stuff like that being done with Screenspace Reflections and was like "it looks nice, but paying Premium just for that !?"
Apart from that this card hauls some sweet ass perfromance wise.
Now i wait for Stalker and see how that works out. Waiting for the sequel since Clear Sky.
Right, right it's the "gamers" fault. Didn't know that huang had turned into a game-journo wokémon
Hope this shit bites them in the ass but who are we kidding? They made tons of money due to the crypto fever and still hope they can make more, so no way they'll ever acknowledge how that didn't help with the fucked up GPU market.

I wouldn’t even blame them for this. They are here to make as much money as possible, no matter what. Situation is also shit for not having proper competition.

Nah, they know miners will eat the price hikes much more easily than gamers, so IMO that's one of the reasons they're "shifting" the blame onto gamers.
Regarding the low availability well, it's commonly known that when you buy a GPU for your gaming PC that you'll usually buy another spare... or 5 or 9, all at once.
The shortages have nothing to do with miners ofc

what a load of horse shit, 1080 is not that unsharp as they make it look like, it looks like 480p, maybe because they did it on a 4k monitor and stretched it out ??
eitherway upscaling will be the future for now i guess, but holy fuck how they trying to sell it is sooo lame
wtf is going on I got asked to build a PC for flight sim 2020 for someone and just looking at the prices its fucking ridiculous.
I paid less for my 3080 than a 3060 at todays prices, might just say don't bother its just not worth it.
so they basically asking for luxury car prices for a high performance PC (with no decent games btw) these days.. so console really is the only logical choice then for value.
