Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) - 5/10
Some ok action, a likable cast, and a few funny moments.
But the overall amount of jokes that didn't connect with the audience (or me, in any case)... ouch.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."

It was actually nice. 7+/10
I expected something a bit different though...

Robbie and McGregor were the best. MEW has so little screen time, every other character has more screen time than her. Actually, half of her character's screen time is flashbacks with a young girl actor, so... yeah.
Now, which part was the best.. it didn't have so many standout parts.
There were some cool slow motion shots of Robbie kicking butt while doing extreme gymnastics (e.g. flips) Harley Quinn style, so that, I guess, because you could see it was really her doing them instead of a stunt double (i.e. the effect of Stahelski coming on board to help with the action).

Cool, my friend said the same thing regarding McGregor and Robbie (she got on his nerves after a while though ) being the standouts although ultimately he didn't like the film and told me to stay away

- too many mobs armed with knives in the second half of the film => lots of fights looked kinda the same

Jojo Rabbit 8/10
Must say i really enjoyed this one. Balanced it's comedy and serious scenes pretty well.
 Spoiler: | The ending left something to be desired though. She's got no family, he got no family.. So what now? Ended on a bit too open note |

I mentioned La Vita e Bella in my 'review', but I think, frankly, that Jojo Rabbit is the better movie.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.

Can't really compare the two though. Jojo is more whimsical and darkly comical about it (as advertised) whereas LiB plays it straight.
Although I have to say Jojo tried too hard to make the viewer "feel" whereas LiB did it effortlessly. The only scene that comes close in Jojo is thanks to brilliant acting from Sam Rockwell at the end.
1 and 2 are still amazing. |

I just couldn't enjoy it. It was too cheesy and cheap compared to Carpenters version. I know a lot of scifi-horror aficionados really like as a period piece but I just laughed at various points and then did a re-watch of John Carpenters The Thing.

Hm, I don't know... It's been a while since I saw La Vita e Bella (the year it won the Oscar, I think). I remember it was very good, but Benigni and his humor are too ADHD for me 
Jojo Rabbit is a bit different, in that it starts as parody (somewhat), but after a while it lets you sink in that it's in fact not, and reality starts seeping through. As if the viewer was fooled along with the kid. Until at a certain moment, the fantasy comes to an abrupt end. That was a tough scene to watch.
The child actors were very good in Jojo.

Yes that one, but I really like it. Ive been watching 30+ different 50s movies lately and this one was very well made compared to most other "horror" movies from this time.
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.

Oh yeah, the horror and sci-fi of the 50'ies was generally extremely schlocky and cheesy (Hitchcock was an exemption). It wasn't until the 60'ies that they received the treatment they deserved.

Well, my score of 5/10 makes it barely passable. If 1 or 2 things about it annoy you more than they did for me, it drops to 3 or 4 out of 10.. It is not a good film.
Kinda wish I kept my free ticket for Sonic but Sonic's price is cheaper, so I decided to use my ticket for the more expensive film.
