I doubt that matters much since they will be shipping expansions for Odyssey and by the time everything is out, new AC will be ready for 2020. Laughing

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Isn't The Division 2 the big title? Or we count as big only those coming in Q4?

just let the series die already, they managed to get some hype with origins and the year off was worth it but with this one again they couldnt help themselves to just copy and paste and rush things off, probably preorders are low too and nobody gives a fuck anymore

too bad as the time period is excelent but everything else looks and has been done too many times

I don't agree at all, it's now it's getting interesting (since Origins), i'm pretty hyped.

I never really played the previous titles, i checked them out real quick but can't say i found them any good, Origins was great fun and looked great too. Great themes for both games (best in the series so far).

I'm sure i'll be burnt out on this type of gameplay by the end of playing this one though Wink

I still don't understand the movement / combat system.

It's too fast and unrealistic, it feels like the weight of player and NPCs is 20kg.

Not sure if it's the dodging system or animations, but it doesn't feel right, which is why I will skip this too.

I tried to play Origins multiple times but got bored of it...

Probably still based around the parkour system and having high mobility regardless of armor or weapons that would realistically weigh down traditional combatants of that era.

That and fast paced visceral cinematic like combat experience for gameplay purposes heh.
Being able to move and doge several meters and roll well out of harms way quickly which goes for the enemies too since as Origins can attest almost all types are incredibly nimble, athletic and fast.
(Grandmaster in throwing too should you try to climb anything while noticed.)

That or based on 300 I guess, cape, helmet and a leather micro-thong that has never been washed and just full out charge the attacking enemy troops. Razz

Thats a good thing. The animation, momentum and weight priority western devs give their games is some of the worst things they do. You need games to acurately respond and react to your inputs, not feel like 18 wheelers

Disagree. Whats actually important is predictability, not ultraresponsiveness that feels fake imo.

Predicting the enemy and controls that dont have lag arent exclusive though? They have absolutely nothing to do with each other in fact ? This game doesnt have some inhuman or bizzare response. "ultraresponsiveness". It just seems to respond to your commands as it should instead of making you wait a second and a half before it does what you told it to do. Maybe all the shit controlling games made us think thats how games should be ? I dont think they should

Seems one of the unlockable abilities lets you shoot straight through walls now.

Straight through the fourth wall. Razz
(Damage numbers straight from The Division too, how much health again?)

To be fair, it is a simulation. Troll Face

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

its too bad these games arent very moddable, so much could be done to improve them, and much of that would be to just get rid of shit Sad

But you can just not use it, ie, afaik you can assign which 4 skills you want to have active, so just use something else?

Sure, it's usually not how i tend to play games in the long run though.. i'm not a fan of fast travel either, but when its there and it's efficient etc. then i tend to use it. This is probably not the only thing i would take out (or rather, replace with something more immersive), there's much that could be done to improve the series imo.

Well that sounds like a "you" problem then.
Personally, i'm a big fan of options, the more, the better. I'll personally play a this is sparta kick build. grinhurt

Luckily, the previous one offered quite a bit of customization over how you can play, so likely the same case will apply to this one.

well thats the thing, you didnt played them all.

still origins was good and felt somewhat fresh but seeing this now brings back memories with all the repetitiveness from past games

game is part origins/black flags and stupid syndicate characters

they just cant do one original game, they always milk another game out of it

@Rage A game with this kind of abilities also has a design that facilitates using them.

Indeed, yes thankfully i waited for the series to mature a bit, which means i'm not bored out of my mind with the concept. Most likely i would not even have looked at Origins if i had played the previous games and thought they were just OK'ish time wasters..

i'm limiting myself when it comes to far cry too, found that FC Primal was really fun, for people playing all the games in the series i bet it mostly feels like a re-skin.. Not gonna play the current FC either, waiting for a better theme..

So? Self-restraint is a thing too. As long as the game doesn't force you to use it to progress, it's your call whether you do use it or not.

IRL i think very few gamers play games like that though, when there's a handy option (whatever it is) you usually use it. I've probably said many times to myself that i'm not gonna do X and Y, does that usually work out after 10h or so, no.. i know i'm not alone Wink
