That's the same issue with all current 144hz 1440p gsync (or not I think) ips monitors have.
It's pure luck based. Good one can be really nice if you are willing to send back few times but nowhere near 800$ nice. All panels are made by AUO optronics and customization done by asus, acer, aoc and so on. But they can only do qc check and send back bad ones. They just install their osd, do some calibration and put the panel into their frame.
I kinda went overdrive and again wrote what I wrote initially on the last page, so here it is. Spoilered because not everyone might want me to see doing va/ips/tn talk all over again
Spoiler:
I would say... if someone "must" have high refresh rate and g-sync(which I both highly advise for pc gaming), TN or VA are both safer options. Tn especially since it's much cheaper(because of bad rep, it's tn "don't ever buy tn and so on") and the only drawback it has is tn viewing angles not suitable for graphics work. Which is hypocrisy since ips angles are fucking terrible on both bright and dark content. Ips glow ruins the image from any angle, even up front.
Aside for that, I think that TN has great performance/price ratio, good blacks(better than ips anyway), no ips/va glow and so on.
But it's not problem free too... Those TN monitors, even though they are MUCH better than 10 years ago, still can be problematic. Can have some/much clouding. Not as annoying as ips glow but can be visible on whole black screen. And plenty of g-sync TN monitors suffer from horrible gamma which results in washed out image.
That's why it is highly advised to AVOID dell tn monitors. They are cheap, good looking and so on but do not have osd gamma controls and the gamma is often like 1.7. Asus, Acer and Aoc all have excellent osd and all controls needed.
With low gamma, all image corruption (color banding) is easily visible. It is fault of both low gamma exposing dark areas which are not supposed to be visible to player and badly created textures/transparent textures without any dithering.
VA is more prone to dead pixels since most VA gaming panels are sadly curved. Not to mention bad ghosting/purple smearing issues, which are very dependent on overdrive used. I went through few 60zh va monitors to finally find that iiyama had best overdrive. It resulted in best motion clarity on va I've tested few years ago but still much worse than any other monitor type. 144hz samsung va monitors have purple smearing issue and fuzzy text issue due to bad curve or something...
I think viewing problems of TN are overblown and totally a non-issue (imo to me, please not attack me!) if I sit normally at my desk. When I had a tn monitor in 2006, it was very bad because I did not had a proper desk setup and was often watching movies from bed position and they were just too dark from below.
Tn also have fastest pixel response although ips nowadays is just as fast.
I just don't think ips is good to consume any kind of content with darker scenes. tv shows were terrible on any ips I've had. So were horror games of any kind. tn and va are just better for media consumption and games. Work might be different case. Since ips is "crushing blacks", content prepared on ips screen will be bright/overexposed on va and tn screens. Which shows in some games. Both va and tn show image very similarly, while IPS next to them or on mobile phone looks crushed.
in short - there is no perfect monitor - all have some drawbacks - just choose what drawback You can accept

I think i'll go for 1440 @ 60hz, because I want to play at 1440 and until I buy a new gen gpu, my 970 will struggle keeping 60fps on 1440 in most games.
Even after gpu swap, i'd be more than happy to have constant 60fps at 1440.
the nano, quantum and all other bullshit is just a color filter in front of the panel... resulting in oversaturation usually.

Nice screen, but has also shitloads of uniformity issues, im really starting to suspect that you cannot get high hz panel with good uniformity, high hz has its price and its the image quality.
@_Breezer: Wow, I've been looking at monitors for the last 4-5 days and didn't notice that this was the test of the previous model G27C, the newer model that I wanted to buy is the MAG27C(Q, as I want the WQHD model), so maybe they have improved on some of the shitty things?
No, the curved gaming SVA panels almost all have clouding issues, no matter the resolution/size. You'd have to be extremely lucky to get one with little to no clouding.
As I already said, the gaming monitor with currently the best black uniformity is the LG 32GK850G
But it's big and pretty expensive (and not out here till February)
OK, I'll buy the MAG27CQ myself and checkout if I can live with it. Funny thing is though that I barely reach 120FPS in PUBG right now at 1080p.. so if I upgrade to 1440p, I won't even be able to reach 90FPS Is a 1080 quick enough for 144fps in pubg?
But why would you base your acquisition on a game which isn't finished? Maybe try a different game?
?
I want a 1440p screen, 144hz and good colors... this is independent from PUBG And if my GTX 970 isn't fast enough for PUBG at 1440p, then I'll upgrade my system when I have the monies for it
