We've been over this! It's about the scope! The ambition! They're going to be simulating microscopic particles in the soil to determine greenhouse growth rates in the planetary habitats for fucks sake! WHICH OTHER GAME DOES THAT?! I'll tell you which...none!
Sorry, couldn't resist!

Sounds awesome, you should apply for a job there
I did. But I saw a Nigerian prince in the waiting room. Apparently he got the position...something about him being more qualified and inline with company standards...hell if I know.

Does that mean "what gameplay?" or "FU you lazy bastard watch some vids"? If first , if last I never watch gameplay vids. I haven't been reading up on this game for a long time now, hence the question. It all seems to be about the tech side of it atm.
@Mister_s
Ixi posted a Twitch link where you can see the gameplay of SQ42 if that is what you are interested in.
For the online part, there are more than enough videos on Youtube already.
For SQ42 TL;DW:
Graphics are not bad, cutscenes are good, gameplay is 0815.
Enthoo Evolv ATX TG // Asus Prime x370 // Ryzen 1700 // Gainward GTX 1080 // 16GB DDR4-3200
And none of the above is real, exists, is playable in any way or is even using completed game assets. Virtually everything is pre-rendered lies, and nothing you see has actually been developed to work outside of this pre-rendered environment.
Oh sure, maybe the soldiers have been modeled. and perhaps some of the internals. But pretty much everything you see doesn't exist outside of that carefully scripted, pre-rendered demo.
This is worse that the E3 crap we get every year. At least those games actually exsisted.

I am starting to think Chris Roberts is just thinking who to blame for every failure. Long ago it was Microsoft for not giving him shitton of money. For Star Citizen so far it's the CryEngine at the start, then it was the netcode, now he tells players are at fault for the performance issues because they blow up ships with full cargo into planets. Seems like he is a chronic blame-shifter and is really disappointing me with almost every word since the end of the Kickstarter campaign.
Some trolls should form a team that logs in at peak times and just do their best to lag the servers. That should puch the idiots to optimise their LumberingJack engine before adding more features that will make the simulation more complex like buildings or whatever.
It is just so annoying that they don't focus on the single player first ... a Wing Commander style cinematic story campaign without multiplayer, first person action or any extra shit. But no ... then you cannot sell land on planets
I wish some giant like Microsoft could throw his ass on the curb and squeeze this engine into something releasable in 2019, like we got Freelancer, which was a good game. Who knows what would have happened with Roberts at the helm.
Not that I have bothered to follow this shitshow for a long while now, but isn't the alpha phase of development generally for adding all the features you want, and only in beta once you have everything locked in do you do the optimizations. Complaining about poor performance now seems a bit premature.
Especially considering Star Citizen was designed for the GTX 1580 Ti gpus as the minimum recommended spec.

Development of Star Citizen began in 2011[3] and was originally planned for a release in 2014, and again in 2016. As of 2017, there is no official release date, and the game is still in active development. Squadron 42 was originally announced for a late 2015 release, but was delayed. As of December 2017, there is no definite release date.
