Right from the beginning of that trailer when the kiwi actor/dj launches into his faux meek rounded vowels, memories of the appalling kiss the arses of the 'leet' while nerfing whatever the nonentities in the 'riff-raff' can challenge them with style of Exile came flooding back.
Calling this game 'free' is frankly laughable since GGG flatly refuse to do anything at all to prevent marketing of otherwise (unless you've got a an expensive farming bot network) unobtainable items on chines gold sites. These essential weapons and armour retail for up to US $300 then GGG nerfs them and the whole sorry rort begins again.
GGG must be copping an earner from this cheating otherwise they would do as other game servers do and block the lot.

Most online games suffers from bot problems or third party "helper" utilities, some developers go out of their way to announce bans and trying to cull the practice whereas others keep it more quiet or don't seem to do much at all about this.
Elder Scrolls Online is rampant with this problem, a group of people found a obvious bot and kept reporting him every day for months, nothing happened.
(And then there's Cheat-Engine practices, exploiters and private add-on's.)
Getting the right gear in this game is time consuming so I can totally see bots being a thing and then third party markets for selling items or even characters/accounts though I don't know how public "GGG" are about announcing what they're doing to combat it.
Their own in-game shop is mainly related to cosmetic effects (Having a decent looking set of armor for example. ) but there are a couple of utility options as well such as storage space tabs of various functions, more hard-core players will probably find these near essential for keeping their inventory more organized.
I haven't spent anything on the game but then again I'm pretty laid back / casual and don't really need to though I might pick up something now that this expansion hits as a sign of support.
(0.99 particle effect, heh probably not since that gets really annoying.)
Looking forward to seeing the new content...whenever I stop dying to actually push through the existing acts first I suppose, well I did recently make it through the two "dreams" in act 5 so almost done I guess but the worst is probably yet to come.
EDIT: Yeah, that "Nightmare" was quite something, done with now though and all that remains is to wait a little bit more for 3.0 to hit public release.

Also most derps read guides and copy 'popular' builds rather than fully emerse themselves and enjoy the game. This leads to retardedly expensive must have items and drives all these markets forward.

Hmm, what has to do botting with a free game ? I didn't have to pay for it, i didn't have to pay for any item so i could beat this game. I don't care about botters or markets flowing in a fishy sites. It's a personal decision to use third party software to be able to reach endgame. Every game has it's botters, but why should i care about them? I've invested 2500 hours into this gem and not a single second i was concerned about botters, china gold sites and etc. Ofc u need to put an enormous effort in beating last boss, but... this is how this game works - u GRIND, u take different approaches based on your drops and u can reach any goal ingame without paying single cent. So your "botting" thing is completely irrelevant here m8. This game is not pay2win, i can assure u.

I'm not sure what you guys are talking about? Do you mean poe.trade or something? everything seems reasonable on there to me.
Think i spent $10 years ago to get early access and then spent that on stash tabs which is about all you ever need and have got hours of entertainment out of it.
You can play completely self found no issues

I got right into this game a few years ago and enjoyed it with just 'found' gear until I discovered that if you want to progress far with a build crafting a decent bow or sword is essential trading is the logical way to go but pressure on the market from secondary gold sites makes that tough unless you practically live on the damn site.
Worse still is when you make a good weapon only to see it nerfed in following seasons or whatever they call them in PoE.
Therefore many players stay in standard mode which is sorta nerf proof but not completely.
The issue with cardboard cut out builds where any dropkick can copy a 'leet' build also means that multiplayer is a bit of an arms race.
It's not until you trade the penny drops on the level of ignorance many players have on what they own & what they want - they don't really have a clue they are too busy chasing mjolners or whatever some dingbat on youtube told them they need.
Some aspects of the game are really micromanaged hence the frequent nerfs and other (usually downgrade) alterations - on the other hand when I stopped playing there was no server side management of inventory I would have thought a unique identifier on premium kit would do a lot to stop pay2win (which GGG claim they are opposed to) and then bot farming wouldn't matter so much - maybe GGG have done that now, they certainly hadn't last time I played tho.
Maybe I'll give the new version a burl but unless they have redone a few things from the ground up it is tough to see it will have changed enough.

I played the previous league, definitely free from my experience.

Buying a premium stash tab is something I'll do probably. With it you can put items onto the tab and they will be searchable by other players on poe.trade. Previous leagues I've just hoarded items and then never bothered selling because trading without being able to get listed on poe.trade is just horrible.

the only thing i bought in this game was a currency stash tab, that alone eliminated a lot of inventory management for the leagues

Too bad there is not included "added soft body physics" and "added camera distance slider", without these the game is unplayable for me still, wonder if they will ever do those (gief atleast the damn camera slider).

I think they said before that they won't increase the camera distance or add a slider, because that's how they intended for people to play the game. That's the design.
Although I kinda remember that when 2.0 released, they moved the character a little bit more to the center of the screen. So much for camera fixes. Don't get your hopes up.

As it does in any other isometric game, you see stuff from further away.

They could easily keep the original retarded design unaltered with simple character light radius fix, where enemies are shrouded till certain point, would be so nice to have higher fov.

I think it's about ranged characters being able to aim exactly at a certain location in advance, basically clearing an area before ever getting close.

Well.. they are "ranged" characters... so they must have this advantage. coz now it feels more like a joke..
. . Besides, it can be easily "fixed" by limiting players ability to focus enemies after a certain range or limiting arrows hit distance
