Does the game run properly yet? On release I played it for ~40 hours and gave up due to performance problems... and I can't see much evidence for a patch that fixed it. I'd love to try LW2 if it's not chugging along
I wonder if there will ever be an "easier" version of LW2. I understand why it's hard but I want something that would be as long, have those features included, but take away the timers and give you the option to not be rushed when working the tactical side of things.
OMG please let it be a full expansion. XCOM2 is one of the few games I finished twice... and I'm looking forward to a third playthrough if they make it "fresh" again.
If it is a Terror from the Deep scenario, you'd think it would have to be completely standalone almost. I can't see that they would tack it onto the end and force you to play through the entire game to get to it, and it doesn't make much sense to integrate it piecemeal into the existing campaign like they did with Enemy Within for XCom EU.
Pure speculation on my part. All we know at the moment is that Firaxis created some new DLC depots a few months back, and have been adding to them ever since - https://steamdb.info/app/268500/history/
Someone on the XCom sub suggested that from some of the config changes that were visible, it looks like the launcher ties into the existing EXE, which would more likely point to content integrated into the main campaign.
The fight against ADVENT continues when additional resistance factions form in order to eliminate the alien threat on Earth. In response, a new enemy, known as the “Chosen,” emerges with one goal: recapture the Commander. This expansion to the 2016 award-winning strategy game of the year includes new Hero classes to counter the “Chosen”, new enemies, missions, environments and increased depth in strategic gameplay. Requires XCOM 2 to play.
The real war beginsAugust 29.

That was unexpected. I guess they are saving Terror from the Deep for XCom 3 (even though Jake Solomon said he didn't want to do it as a full game). I'm not sure what to make of that trailer. Seems like a retread of Enemy Within to some extent, making you replay a full campaign with a side-antagonist and some new units, but basically having no effect on the overall plot or ending.

Also zombies, ugh.
Hehe yeah it was OK the first time but they are again trying to milk the main campaign for content...

There is some stuff very reminiscent of Enemy Within, like the covert missions, but a lot of the stuff like soldier bonds, fatigue, chooseable AWC perks, etc. seem like they are taken straight from mods.

oh boy tl;dr Summary
Alien Hunter DLC Bosses reworked
The chosen are essentially map modifiers that force you to play a map differently even before you directly engage with them
New status "dazed" can lead to your soldiers being "interrogated"* or kidnapped
New missions to rescue kidnapped soldiers.
Interrogations lead to the chosen gaining knowledge, a new ressource they're using to sabotage your campaign map
The three chosen are three seperate factions
Each of them have a stronghold you can attack to kill them
Chosen level up during the campaign and gain random new abilities
The entire system is inspired by Shadow of Mordors Nemesis system
This also includes them talking with you about past fights
New resistance faction that comments on you as well
You need to cooperate with the resistance to track down and kill the chosen
You don't and probably won't kill all the chosen in a campaign
New enemy tpyes
New zombie faction "the lost"
New random mission modifiers like "the lost only", "Surgical - 3 soldiers only", "Explosives littered around the map" etc
Hero units for each of the resistance factions, which will be strong but highly expensive
These are Psi, Melee and stealth based
You need to earn skillpoints to buy them via specific combat actions
These skillpoints can also be spend in a new training facility to teach normal units special skills and skills from other classes
Advanced Warfare Center is gone
New soldier classes
You can spend ressources on the resistance factions to gain new passive campaign bonuses
New expanded "Covert operation" missions (like in EW) that tie to the resistance factions
All units have "bonding" abilities on these covert ops depending on random compability between units
Will stat is reworked, now it leads to fatigue if you use soldiers too often
New random "inspired" research that will give you one time chances for unique bonuses
An average campaign takes around 10-15 missions longer than the basegame only
New challenge mode (Outside the campaign) where you can play firaxis designed as well as random missions against leaderboards
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
