Odin Sphere Leifthrasir RPCS3 goes in game Maybe even can be considered 'playble' though at some parts: bit buggy/slowdowns
I tested it a bit, the intro worked slow but in-game worked at full speed.. with some slowdowns at actions times.. but not always.
I guess it something with my setting Will test more later on or I need to overclock my CPU.
You can try it by just downloading the latest RPCS3 build on their site..
Any way here is a video(not uploaded by me).
But it's also due to Cemu. The grass is there, just under the world. Some guy clipped through and made a screenshot, something is just messed up with collision under Cemu. The current theory is that that's also why the phyisics powers don't work, swimming isn't working and enemies glitch out during fights.
But yeah, 4k rendering and higher res shadows are already possible in Cemu and it looks nice and sharp all around.
just occassionally check the BOTW Megathread on reddit for the latest hacks and fixes. Don't expect anything too awesome, without a cemu update botw just remains too glitchy. I am currently enjoying other WiiU games like Super Mario 3D World, really hadn't expected this emulator to work this well already. All the major games work quite well, there is even DLC and Patch support.
really hadn't expected this emulator to work this well already.
I'm also impressed by how good Wii U emulation is at this point.
I have been playing Mario Kart 8 with the 4k graphic module and it a solid 60 fps.
CEMU is closed source and made by a very small team. It has gained quite a lot of popularity after the BOTW release. They are now at 21k per month in Patreon (with quite a lot of coming after all the BOTW emulation press). With that income, I wonder if they will progress a little slower...

Nope they just announced 1.7.4 on Discord with some BotW fixes.
@stooz: he plans to release teknoparrot, which "emulates" the old sega ringedge1. not what he has shown with tekken etc. or have i missed something?
Hard to say exactly what he's supposed to release... Here is what he replied to me in Discord:

Hey Reaver, what exactly is being released when it is ready?
Reaver - Today at 8:12 AM
First JVS universal emulator. For sega, namco, taito etc.
Then RE emu that supports joystick games
sTo0z - Today at 8:14 AM
And the Tekken/MKDX stuff is just for personal fun?
Reaver - Today at 8:15 AM
I am not going to release any games if you are asking that
Jvs emu will support t7 and mkdx out of the box whoever has them
sTo0z - Today at 8:16 AM
Yah not asking for games, no problem, just curious how "far" the emulator goes, thanks for the info
Reaver - Today at 8:17 AM
Es3 has no special things
Like eprom and sram
Ringedge is much more complex
Es3 has overall better security
Sort of
And sort of not

You mean the left and right picture that's also circulating in reddit?
That picture shows some improvements in the lighting but that's pretty much it.
I'm not saying that they will indeed move slowly only to milk the cow, but that's definitely a possibility. They pretty much doubled their monthly Peatron income in a few days. And it all came because of the press about BOTW already being emulated. It would be a feasible strategy to keep releasing versions with small fixes to it, instead of releasing a version that greatly improves the game. I hope they are not that greedy.

So all we need to get our hands on is the Tekken 7 files from an arcade and we can play it with the JVS universal emulator?
probably easier said than done, hope someone steps up to the plate
i also got constant 30 fps in BotW outside of cities thanks to a i7 4790k clocked at 4.9ghz
the hyper threading affinity thing gave me the last needed edge, still a bit crazy, i hope they optimize it a lot more because Hateno still runs like ass
pretty hopeful about 1.7.4 but one of the devs already debunked it all being part of one 'collision problem'
still, with fog also finally being above ground i could see grass and water at least working in 1.7.4
What kind of CPU requirements does Cemu have in general? I only have an i3 4170 @3.7ghz, I was thinking of trying Mario Kart 8. Or should I not even download the game and waste my time?

Not very high your Haswell I3 should be fine for most games.
cemu benefits from high clocks more than from more cores. cemu most likely rans almost identical in your 3,7ghz i3 compared to an 3,7ghz i7
Mostly 1 heavy thread yes it spawns a few extra threads but they don't do much and I3 has HT anyway which still helps a bit with those.
Tried Catherine just now in the newest RPCS3 build you definitely need a 6+ core I7 to get close to fullspeed like in that video the emulator is heavily multi threaded i mostly get only 20-25 fps on my I5.

As others have said, you should be fine for most games. Cemu doesn't play very well with hypertherading, so be sure to either disable it in the BIOS (big performance decrease for other applications) or set the processor affinity. There are some topics in the cemu reddit explaining it.
Be sure to read about shader caches too. They make a huge difference, so it's a very good ideia to download them.

It was an interesting game when i played through it back then.
i7 5930k, "buy new CPU to play 10yo game that is not even so good"!
Considering you can get jailbroken PS3 for less then 100 bucks these days that's not a great idea and that's not what this is about in the first place, the emulator is still in early alpha stage after all so it's a small wonder this is possible to achieve even if it is brute forced with a strong cpu.
Anyway, why isn't Nintendo going after the emu authors? Haven't they cracked down on rom sites in the past?

Reverse engineering a console is legal since Sony lost to bleem! ( PS Emulator ) back in the day, reverse-engineering the system's bios was considered as "fair use".
Ultimately, it drew bleem! out of business due to the sheer costs of the lawsuit, but the point stands today thanks to them.

For Dolphin, I read that the only piece of Nintendo software is some kind of audio dump sometime ago ( might be slightly mistaken there ), but since that dump came from a dev who owned the console himself, it also falls under fair use.
All in all, these guys aren't risking much as long as they don't promote game piracy in itself !
It's true that websites offering iso links are regularly taken down, but since there are new methods available in order to get game files ( grabbers ), that doesn't matter much.
