Runs decent but stutters here and there. Visuals are muddy as hell and reek of consolitis.
Didn't float my boat. After a couple of hours or so it all became rather tedious. Too much micromanagement and not all that much to do.
Looking forward to Mack's review. It should be good for a laugh.

Holy shit the planetside ship handling is just...it's beyond words to describe how bad it is.
Is there a way to turn off this 'floor is lava' bullcrap? I constantly miss landing pads because I cannot turn the nose of the ship down more to see what the holy hell is below me, and dogfighting is virtually impossible because the enemy can easily hug the ground, but you are not allowed to go below a certain height, and have to boost up into the sky, then dive down on the target to have a chance at scoring some hits. Well, before the nanny-controls force you nose-up.
If I want to faceplant my ship into the ground I should be able to. This 'keep little Timmy away from the ground or he might hurt himself' handholding is just infuriating.

In DL you can at least turn it off (but fair enough it was not possible to disable the effect at launch without mods).
Intel Core i7 6700K @ 4.6 GHz | Asus Z170 Pro Gaming | Corsair Vengenace LPX 16GB DDR4 3200 MHz | MSI GeForce GTX 1080 FE | Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB + 250 GB | EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2 | Fractal Design Define R5 | Noctua NH-D14

So the game that looked really bad prior to release is in fact.. a very bad game.

So much this... I see the screenshots from the humpers about Subnautica and think: man that looks great... but at the same time I wish it was space instead.

Yep subnautica is much better then this crap. So is the forest. They're the only 2 survival games that ever held my interest for more then an hour.

So after I employed the magical fix
Quote: | C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\No Man's Sky\Binaries\SETTINGS
Then find the file "TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS.MXML" and open it.
You will then find the "GSync" option. It's "true" by default, change it to "false". |
turned Vsync off, turned max framerate to MAX and limited framerate to 60 with Afterburner
I no longer have any hitches and it's 60 FPS 99% of the time (with some drops to 40 when landing on a new planet). It no longer stutters when taking off too, which is a plus.
The game is still shit though, lacks any sense of direction, the UI is a clusterfuck, it looks like a 2004 game on max, and even with the maximum AA option enabled the jaggies hurt my eyes.
Oh well, shift-delete.
Seriously, play Starbound instead.
