I almost cleared "A". While I think it's fun, I don't understand how this got raving reviews. Most puzzles are very easy and the design is repetitive and basic. The story seems to be predictable, but I hope I'll be surprised by some twists later on.

I love how the game eventually makes you understand why you solve the puzzles, why the puzzles are so basic and how it fits into the story. There is no audio log that tells it explicitly, but as you ascend the forbidden tower to just realise "why".

I like how the story is told, but it's clearly a rehash of older ideas. I hope to see this kind of story telling in other games. I like the game, but I expected something much more based on reviews. I wouldn't rate this more than 7.5 atm.

I didn't enter the tower. I've done some levels in C.

You really think I have to be a genius to solve these puzzles? Apart from some star puzzles, it's all relatively easy. What does time have to do with it? Solving a puzzle in 10 minutes instead of 5, makes it more fun?
Being easy does not particularly make it boring, it's the simple design of it all. The way the story is told through the terminals is pretty cool, as I said earlier, but the rest is basic.

Did you collect most of the stars so far?
There is an important aspect of the game that you don't have to deal with until you tackle the tower and the stars, the one game design/storytelling trick that makes the game memorable for me.

As I said in my edit, what influence has the time to solve a puzzle have on it being repetitive/boring or not?
I disagree with your third sentence. Let's leave it at that.

Ah OK. Since your theory is that only a lack of challenge leads to boredom, and this game bored me, I must actually be a genius. I'm glad we cleared that up.

You're the one coming up with that brilliant theory, out of nowhere since I never mentioned how long it took me to solve the puzzles (maybe I've been running around for hours), and I agree that according to your theory I am a genius.
I will test your proposed "more time to solve = more fun" by prolonging my time to solve a puzzle (maybe walk slower ingame?). I'll keep you updated.

Damn, i this is not as good as i thought. I through the world was supposed to be a puzzle in games like this, but it's just a hubworld with 5000 000 fucking levels. Is that supposed to be fun? Let me tell you, it's not. It's not interesting at all and it will be dead boring before i do 3 rooms wtih 5 or 6 levels in it.

Playing this also on the SD after hearing a lot of praise. It's not a masterpiece by any means, nor are the puzzles particularly complicated, but I wouldn't call it repetitive either. The mechanics are simple and just a few, but they're exploited sometimes in a very original way.
I'm half way through it (done with A and B, 3rd tower level), I'm not expecting much more from it and not planing to do the star / messenger levels...it's OK for short sessions imo

The game has two layers to it, the regular puzzles and the star puzzles. This distinction and how it ties to the game's narrative is what peple praise about the game. If you don't enjoy the star puzzles, the game just isn't for you.
