I feel like there was a new show among these lines recently but cannot remember the name?

Regardless, can you guys recommend some tv series akin to the mighty Sopranos?

Gomorrah

This Razz
It has a more serious tone overall (almost macabre at times), and a different structure since it's meant to be authentic - in a good way (straight to the point/without the glamour), but there are definitely some similarities. Anyway, I highly recommend it.

Fact 1: Gomorra is much more similar to The Wire (it's been frequently called The european Wire) than to The Sopranos.

Fact 2: Our fellow humper lolozaur, is a well-known Soprano's lover, but he hated The Wire.

Draw your own conclusions Twisted Evil

I would say Peaky Blinders is much more Soprano-ish, albeit set in the 1920's. Hell, even Sons of Anarchy is much more similar to Sopranos (though not nearly as good).

i liked the dirtyshitty atmosphere of peaky blinders, but the writing on that show is just.. way too simplistic to keep watching
watched the entire first season because my sister made me, and there was no satisfactory payoff
all the writing WAS as simple as i suspected it had been until that point
