For me pCars is the overall best driving game when it comes to realism, at least to this date.
Damn, kinda want to go to Gatebil to drive on a good track in real life, see how my car corners at high speeds Very Happy

and forza is no sim, has almost nothing to do with sim -> its an arcade racer (therefore i prefer playing it with a pad and not a wheel)

Pcars is as much a sim as Outrun was in the 1990's Laughing It's an arcade game pretending to be a sim. It looks good, but it doesn't drive like a sim. Compared to Rfactor, hell even Asetto Corsa, it's pitiful for the amount of money they had to develop with, and the promises that were made.

Would be nice to let some professional drivers actually try out ALL the different driving games that claims to be sim racers/have a sim option Laughing . Probably only Assetto Corsa, pCars and LFS that would come close to be called a proper car simulator.

So, it is possible to install this on Win10 store, even if your windows is not legit? (aka, cracked)?

By now most professional drivers and teams use sims for practice and even setup tests. Heck I see one of the best v8supercar drivers frequently practicing in iracing, scotty mclaughlin. No sim is outright best but many are considered proper car simulators.
Rfactorpro is the one I've seen used most by teams, strange you didn't mention rf2 since it's by far the most advanced engine. I've seen acpro around some too I think the ferrari f1 team uses it. Man I'd love to get my hands on some of those proprietary car models Very Happy
Pcars on the other hand is more simcade and isn't very realistic compared to the ones I mentioned.

One of my recurring dreams is to have one of those official sim-stations boldly and aggressively positioned in my living room, but alas, it's not exactly doable. Very Happy
I also remember Ferrari Virtual Academy (which I think it's been discontinued) being used as a training "tool" by Massa some years ago, not a coincidence since it was made by Kunos as well.

Some GT drivers back in the day also would spend hours on the good ol' GTR2 (NAPP Mod), but today as you said there are more polished alternatives around.
Wish pCars allowed for some in-depth modding, just imagine what the community could do if the physics-related parameters were adjustable/tweakable *shakes fist*, some of the so-so cars and dodgy behaviors would get "fixed" like in the Shift 2 days, leading to massive improvements. Razz

@ixigia Yeah I would kill for one of those rigs hah. They are wasted on those damn spoiled f1 drivers!!
GTR2 certainly takes me back. I was super uninformed back then but even I could tell it was something special. I've been meaning to try their new sim r3e again because I heard it's improved a ton recently. So many sims so little time Crying or Very sad

Microsoft/Turn10 have claimed that any future Forza titles will come to Win10 alongside Xbox, so no Forza5/6/Horizon now, but Horizon 3 and/or Forza 7 will. Allegedly.

After the upgrade I told myself, why not, let's try the Forza Ape Piaggio d̶e̶m̶o redux made for us, Personal Console users, since I've always been curious to see what the fuss was all about. Well well well I Am Disappoint Laughing

That was underwhelming, in every possible way. Even with all the assists disabled, the handling always feels wonky and artificially gamey, with unnatural oversteer-based automated movements and fubar physics. Not to mention the collisions, with that fake bump sound and poor feedback overall like in the autoscooters..dammit. The visuals and performance are definitely better, clean and running at comfortable 60fps (High) on my system, although while the models themselves and textures are great, the rest (particle effects, tracks, rain, shadows) are fairly basic and the final result isn't exactly a photo-realistic one to put it mildly.

This game makes Project Cars look and play like a masterpiece, let alone Assetto Corsa or Reiza's games. Thanks for the saving attempt Mycroft, but..we're ok.

Hahah Very Happy *prepares the hammer of shame*
Now for the sake of completeness I should try Gran Turismo as well, but something tells me that the result would possibly be even worse. Better remain ignorant, which is a bliss in this case! Shifty Fellar

Im the other way around, i rly want to play the new nfs game, but everyone says its crap.

As far as forza goes, i installed, it, graphics are superb, driving is somewhere between a bit sim and a bit arcadey, the more arcadey is to me tthe better, because i really im not that good with cars Very Happy That beeing said, i prefer Drive club to forza.. but its still a good game.

@Morphineus Forza Horizon may be somewhat "cool yo" featured, but it's far away from a Dorito racer, first two titles rarely have had any cringe moments
